Walter Jones is a perfect example of this. Guy went from a pro-war hawk to a Ron Paul acolyte a few years after the Iraq War began. He vigorously opposed war and our relationship with Israel, which he saw as a significant factor in our warmongering in that region. The national party immediately started funding candidates to primary him.

Having to listen to the sobs and wails of mothers of dead soldiers had ZERO to do with it.
Also according to juice and petti, the 12,000 letters he individually wrote to all dead soldiers' families apologizing for his support for the war early on, were written not because he genuinely changed, but because all that money from anti-war orgs made him do so.

What I think Juice and Petti are saying, and I agree with them, is that not all politicians are like Walter Jones. Most don't have a conscience and are purely self-interested, which means backing the party line and monied interests, even when you're personally abhorred at what they do.

I'll go so far as to say I don't think most politicians are for sale in a way you (SCLibertarian) might.
But that doesn't mean lobbyists exist only to reward those who independently-without-pressure come to a particular position.

Absolutely 100% not a doubt in my mind that she is. She’s different from Ocasio-Cortez or even Tlaib in the amount of time and energy she devotes to Israel and Jewish people.

Neocons don’t understand human nature and the limits of American power and the blowback that it creates by forcing it in 3rd world countries that was only kept stable by a dictator or oppressive religion in islam, destabilizes and creates millions of refugees, misery and trillions of dollars down the drain.
The Paulites and isolationist libertarians don’t understand that the United States has national interests, allies in Europe and the mideast and responsibilities as the leading superpower of western civilization against geopolitical foes in Russia, China and yes even Iran.
