This Pope is pandering for supporters. He is attempting to reach out to those who are not religious.
The issue with all of this is that it is a trade off. Those he is attempting to grab are notoriously anti-religion and many of his stances are going to push many Catholics away.
Not very smart, IMO.

So are we going to pretend like Vatican City is relevant as a nation state? If his platform on politics is based on his status as head of state, then I'll group him with similarly non-important city states like Andorra and San Marino. I don't care what their leaders say, and neither should you.

Again, his predecessor was much more environmentalist than him. FFS, the two major 'environmental' documents that Francis has promulgated haven't even been written by him (the first was written by his predecessor; the second by Patriarch Bartholomew).

Pope speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He presents himself as pro-life but then hangs around with folks like Jeffrey Sachs and Bon Ki-Moon. Both of these characters are close collaborators with the world's leading New World Order, population control, open borders and climate change extremist.

quote:He's not even promoting faith in Christ, which is really the only thing that matters in this life. What good is it to gain the world and lose your soul? If he is trying to win people to Christ through social issues, he's doing it all wrong. Christianity isn't unique in terms of promoting good works and no one will be saved by taking care of the environment. Only faith in Christ will save anyone and the Pope is spending more time making himself sound like Al Gore than Jesus.

Yes. Because the government within its walls oversees over one billion people worldwide.

What is it supposed to look like?

That situation has become increasingly dire, with the cost of relocating the town’s 400 residents estimated at US$100 to $400 million.
OK ... let's use the low number ... $100MM.
Why would it cost $250,000 per person to move 400 people?
Entire families move all the time for way, way, way less than that.

Again , I will ask. How much money has the Vatican contributed to the Global Climate Fund?

He's got the whole world in His hands, but needs the pope to save the planet.

So do these 1 billion people adhere to the government of the country they live in first or the government of the Vatican.

So he believes when he says climate change that it's man-made?
What does he propose we change?
the Catholic church if it doesn't change will not make it.

The Catholic Church is becoming a Leftist political organization at this point in its history.
