Poll: Trump 62% to Biden 37% in Mississippi

I know that’s not a surprise, but I think a state like MS might be more reflective of reality when you consider the “silent” Trump voters in battleground states. By comparison, Trump beat Clinton 57.9%/40.1% in 2016.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A new poll shows that President Trump holds a sizable lead over Joe Biden in Mississippi a week before Election Day. In the poll, conducted by SurveryMonkey, 1,705 Mississippians were asked the question, "If the 2020 presidential election were being held today among the following candidates, for whom would you vote?” Of the respondents, 62 percent said they would cast their vote for Trump and 37 percent said they would vote for Biden. Trump won in every age group except for those 18-24 in which 61 percent said they would vote for Biden and those 25-34 where 54 percent said they would vote for Biden.

In the same poll, nationally Biden held the lead 52 percent to Trump’s 46 percent of likely voters.

I think the states who are called earliest on election night will be a big tell. Usually that’s Kentucky, Indiana, Vermont, West Virginia. Probably a few others. If Trump wins by the same or bigger margins as he did in 2016 in those states I think he wins. If it’s smaller margins, it could be a bad sign.
He won Kentucky by 29% in 2016 so I’ll be watching that.

That is the additional 3% or more black vote, and if Trump can pull off 3 additional percent of the black vote from Mississippi that is saying a whole lot. I lived in central Ms for 8 years and know a lot of 'Democrats' that would literally vote for a pile of dog shite as long as it has a D next to its name.

I’ve heard rumors Cocaine could win by 20-25 points. Trump clears 30 points easily this time.

There’s that 2:1 ratio again.....

Somehow I doubt Espy is even competitive if Trump is up by 30 points.

Let's hope that hurricane doesn't frick up South Mississippi too much, to the point they can't vote.

CHS is underperforming Trump in the polls by a good bit. Might be the result of Trump-Espy voters who will have to surrender their cards to Mr. Biden.

He’s not. They are pissing away a lot of cash on ads that is trying to show he is a “moderate” and still will not mention his party affiliation. The ads are also do not mention Trump.
As bad as Hyde smith is.... this won’t be close.

What's the racial breakdown of registered voters in Mississippi? I'm wondering if the difference here from 2016 is possibly some of the black vote starting to turn toward Trump?

I find this hard to believe. I’m 29 and nobody I know is supporting Biden. Even my few liberal friends who voted Obama and HRC are now solidly Trump. I don’t see hardly any Biden support on my FB and I’m friends with over 2,000 people in MS

Biden lost the black vote. The idgets in the SC Churches that were paid to vote Biden for the primary may have to extra pay people.

Its not legit. Surveymonkey. Please.
Espy on ballot, will bring out black vote. Trump wins by 12.

That sounds about right. Yuge amount of Trump support in the Magnolia State

This is why when as I watched the debate with my dad, ( he had already voted for Biden) I said I’m glad his vote isn’t important. It’s the first election since I started voting in 2000 that we’ve been on opposite sides.
