At first…but then they started begging us to ramp up production and kept accusing industry of intentionally holding back to make “record profits”, despite the fact we were pumping out more oil in the history of the United States.

True but all the inflation during his term has Americans squeezed currently so this quick jump in energy prices is hurting people bad and they’ve had no time to prepare and due to Biden and Covid inflation many people have no savings cushion and credit cards are maxed. I think what we are doing in Iran needed to be done but the timing wasn’t the best considering we were on economic shaky ground. If we were in a good economy when we attacked Iran Americans likely would be more supportive and willing to eat the short term costs. But many today simply don’t have any breathing room and when it comes to being able to pay bills vs removing a brutal regime overseas most will prefer being able to pay bills.

I talked to a coworker in Canada yesterday he said it was the equivalent of $8/g in Toronto, after I was complaining about $3.85
