Glad you at least appreciate the name calling. If Dems had a backbone they’d do the same.

If the author is a progressive, then yes, she wants it to fail and wants the country to fail. That is SOP. That is what drives these sociopaths.

Have you incurred any damage from increased tariffs or taxes since tomorrow

no since they dont start until April 9th.

most companies stockpiled reserves knowing some tariffs were coming. we wont see the true damage for another four months or so.

Hopefully he renegotiates everything down to 0% tariffs which will make this all a moot point. smarter heads will prevail in the long run.

Politico basically admitting Trumps's tariffs are working

That's really not what the article says. The overriding theme is that many countries are still weighing options and taking a metered approach to this. Many countries don't yet know what sort of approach they'll take. China (at this time) has the gravitas to say frick you and right now, Canada and Mexico are in no mad rush to "bend the knee".

"Trump already has placed some tariffs on Canada and Mexico, two of America’s top trading partners. But the countries don’t face new duties from the sweeping regime he laid out this week, although they could at a future date. Because of the USMCA trade deal, they’ve also managed to get many exceptions to the tariffs".

China, Mexico and Canada are the ones to keep an eye on. Not Lithuania, Fiji and Uraguay.

Sounds like an admission that these trade barriers other countries enact are not good for business.

Taiwan eyes zero tariffs with US, pledges more investment

plenty of countries have offered 0% tariffs to call out Trump's bluffs that his tariffs are to match theirs.

he has not accepted any offers of 0% tariffs yet because his actual goal isn't reciprocal tariffs, he wants a trade balance which requires higher tariffs because we export less than we import

1. Not terribly impressive.

2. At 36 you should be chomping at the bit to buy the dip. This is one of the best things that could happen to you.

The same Dems that call everyone a nazi and are currently defacing property and burning businesses? Those Dems, or are there peaceful ones we don't know about?

Unless you made the idiotic mistake of selling, you’ve not lost a dime.

Look, kid (I say kid because you’re talking like a kid who doesn’t know his arse from his elbow), as someone who’s been growing their 401K for well over 30 years, I’ve seen my share of market ups and downs, including the crashes of 08 and when COVID hit. The worst thing you can do during these times is start watching your portfolio. Unless you plan to retire in the next 5 years (personally I’m 7 years away), you should be in a BUYING mode right now.

You say companies stockpiled knowingly that tariffs were coming just as pundits exclaim. Trumps been in office for less than 3 months so when did these companies stockpile goods in fear of tariffs? Was if last month, 2 months or maybe 3? It takes much much longer for overseas goods to transport increased orders to be then warehoused. Since there were actually decreased productivity overseas I highly doubt that there are much stockpiling that went on prior to normal shipments. There is very little actual needs that cannot possibly be done without other than medical short term. Let the pressures of reduced demand overseas happen in the short term and watch what transpires. RINO’s and democrats may scream but that is normal from these paid actors but nations will drop to their respective knees, hell France’s business icons just told Macron to kiss their asses as they are not planning on hurting their companies by reduced business in America
