He should have stopped running, kept his back to the cop, tossed the gun on the ground while telling the cop that's what he's doing. Don't turn to face the cop while raising your hands when he knows you have a gun.

I never agree with you Mickey but you are making sense here. The officer may not have seen him throw the weapon down, and then he suddenly turns..., kid put himself in this position. He may be young but he was old enough to pick up the weapon and run, he learned a hard lesson.

So this kid is out trying to murder people, the kid gets killed, and I'm supposed to be outraged because a special needs kid got killed?

Special needs used to mean low IQ. It doesn’t necessarily mean that anymore. People like to use it engender sympathy for other people who may need none.

Hard to tell on this if that's where the kid dropped the gun or if it was kicked there when the cop who shot him went to render aid. Time will tell.

Kid had gun, ran and didn’t comply. Hate it for him but play stupid games win the Darwin Award.....but I am sure this is another example of systemic racism. Let the rioting and looting commence!

No but do you think the cop telepathically knew he was dealing with a special needs Kang?

Tell me more about his special needs. What’s his disability?

It’s a guaranteed extra $2M payout for his family from our tax dollars.

I know this is going to sound really callous but it is the truth. When in the military when confronted with an kid with a gun and an adult with the gun simultaneously, take the kid first. They are too young to understand death so they will pull the trigger faster. Thus why in Africa and South America you read about children soldiers. They make the best killers.

What we should be asking in Killcago is WHY the kid has the damn gun to begin with? This death is on the community there, it's a slaughterhouse.

Yes Mayor. YOU failed him. A long time ago. By coddling the thugs there and not dealing with the problems.

Why is it that all these kids are special needs or autistic? It's like the old "he dindu nuffin" excuse

Crazy checks.

I don't care about Adam Toledo. I care about what happens to the police officer whose life has been forever changed.

Are they rioting or looting? He's Hispanic, so i figure the community might come out, but doubtful they riot or loot unless BLM crew come in to start shite. Or Chicago Anarchists, who caused majority of fire damage in Ferguson.

Yeah, that happens way too fast for anyone to be able to discern intent there. The kid drops the gun as he’s raising his right arm and if you pause it at the exact moment the shot rings out you can’t even see his hand yet (so the officer certainly couldn’t). At that point the cop was looking at someone with a gun who was quickly raising the arm with the gun in it. If he assumes the kid isn’t going to shoot him and he’s wrong he’s dead.

It sucks and I’m sure the officer won’t sleep well for a very long time, but he had to choose in that moment and that’s not really a choice. The kid played with fire and got burned.

He was special needs enough to partake in criminal activity, run from the police with a gun, and pose a lethal threat to the police officer.

His folks should be charged with his death for letting him be out on the street at that time.
