No. 18 Tennessee Pulls Away From Georgia Tech For 45-24 Road Win

No. 18 Tennessee improved to 2-0 with a 45-24 road victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday night in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech jumped out to a 10-7 lead in the first quarter, but Tennessee responded with 17 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 24-10 advantage into halftime.

The Volunteers did most of their damage on the ground, rushing for 303 yards on 45 carries. DeSean Bishop led the way with 151 yards and two touchdowns on 20 attempts, while Daune Morris added 98 yards and a touchdown on just 10 carries.

Freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon completed 10-of-21 passes for 148 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Tennessee's defense also came up with two interceptions, including a pick-six by defensive back Demarcus Lane in the second quarter that gave the Vols the lead for good.

The Volunteers finished with 451 total yards and zero turnovers despite being flagged 12 times for 130 yards.

Tennessee will return home next Saturday to face UAB at Neyland Stadium.
