The Bible does not mention Iran.
Because it wasn’t called Iran in biblical times. We do know that Persia, or parts of the Persian empire comprised of Iran.

Right, so the “prophecies” don’t refer to Iran.

People can scoff, but Bible prophecy is being played out before us in real time.
People have been saying this for centuries now.
I just don't see how you can look at the brutality & scale of WWII, WWI, and heck, even things like the fall of the Roman Empire, then think that THIS right here today is the end of times

I don’t pretend to be a historical or biblical scholar, but this is my understanding of both Iran and Iraq. If this is correct, the Bible has lots to say about both, and how they will be used in the last end times scenario.

I know this much. You don't solve the problem of violence caused by religious stupidity with more religious stupidity.

What part of the Bible are you getting this prophecy from?
Ezekiel 38–39

We are blessed with human minds and intelligence. Even the most devout believers should know when an ancient text written from the perspective of its time can not be applied literally to current events. To do so is arrogant and arguably blasphemous…

When we change the name of a military base, does it mean we can no longer refer to things which happened there in the past or will happen in the future under its new name, or does it simply cease to exist?

No.

Yes, that’s exactly what it means. Most people would refer to its new name.
Now, take your analogy further. Let’s take a place, and then change even more about that place … religion, culture, ethnicity of the people who live there, government, etc. It would be even more asinine to continue to refer to an old name or designation for that place, which has undergone all those changes.

Not if it’s an ancient culture with much of the same ideals, beliefs and goals

You ignored my apology. The point is that it isn’t the same.

Persia was huge. It included most of Turkey, northern part of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, and ended in the southwest corner of India. Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan are the only countries that have variants of the Persian(Farsi) language as their official language. For a short time the Persian Empire stretched all the way to Romania, Bulgaria, and the Ukraine, but it was not considered Persia.
Babylonian Empire was 400 years older than Persia. It occupied most of the some of the same territory, but the eastern part ended in in western Iran. The southwest part of their Babylonian Empire ended in Egypt.

Can't wait to get a picture of the beast with 7 heads and 7 crowns for my Facebook page. Because prophecies are literal and totally not allegorical.
That’s supposed to be literal. It’s referring to the ancient serpent / water dragon / sea monster named Leviathan. Isaiah refers to Leviathan as the fleeing serpent, the twisting serpent. Pre-Israelite mythology from the Canaanites calls Leviathan the fleeing serpent, the twisting serpent, the dragon with seven heads. This is the same sea monster that the Lord was said to have defeated and used its body to form the earth.
It is mythological, but also literal.

It appears that you believe in biblical prophecy. Maybe you’re a biblical literalist.
What do you think about prophecies that failed? Take the one in Ezekiel about Tyre’s destruction and the prophecy that it will never be rebuilt. Last I checked, it’s today one of the largest cities in Lebanon.
Take a more difficult prophecy. The prophecies of Paul and Jesus that those people to whom Paul was writing and to whom Jesus was literally speaking to will not taste death before he returns. I have to figure that all those people that would be 2000 years old are dead, and that Jesus hasn’t come back yet. Paul expected to be transformed into a spiritual being before his physical body died and we have those epistles proving it.
Anyone can say there will be wars and bad stuff will happen. It’s extremely likely, but it doesn’t mean that that person is a prophet or knows the future.
Still believe in prophecy?

Here we go with the end times shite in the Middle East. TV preachers with perfect hair have been spouting off that It’s Happening! for over 60 years.
Folks always forget, there is gonna be a rapture first. I haven’t seen that.

And I'm not being a smartass, but I didn't read anything in the OP post about being worried. Seems to me like he was just giving a PSA from a religious perspective, nothing more.

Christians have many views about the rapture, depending on who you ask.
Some believe in pre tribulation rapture. Some believe in a mid tribulation rapture. Some believe in a post tribulation rapture.
Some don’t believe in any rapture at all.
