What's your plan to make it work?

Name one thing the government runs efficiently and effectively and we can start a conversation.

They can’t even handle the VA health system and that is a small percentage of the population.

Supply and demand

Universal healthcare increases the demand for healthcare.
Does nothing about the supply of healthcare.
Costs rise.
The cost of care goes up or shortages happen.

Because I can afford my health insurance and healthcare already.

Why would I want to voluntarily pay more money and likely have worse care?

That and I don't trust the US government to run ANYTHING efficiently or cost effectively.

Not against everyone having healthcare just against it being administered by the government. Name one thing the government has ever operated that they didn’t figure out a way to royally frick it up?

And again, family or not, some bozo who forms their opinions/gets info about healthcare from a TV show shouldn't be in a position to make those decisions.

Who should?

What are you basing that claim on?

Healthcare is an expensive, finite resource...there’s a reason why the majority of top 20 hospitals are in the US, there’s a reason 80% of drugs originate in the US.

We have great healthcare and have effectively curated great healthcare because intelligent people know they can make profit by doing so. Remove the incentive an remove the progress. Remove the incentive and they’ll focus elsewhere.

US citizens subsidize the rest of the world’s healthcare. If someone from Europe asks why “our” healthcare is so expensive tell them it’s to allow theirs to be so cheap.

It costs about a billion dollars and ten years to take a drug to market, that cost is burdened by American citizens. You’re welcome.

If you weren't in poverty, you wouldn't be hungry! Someone should start a program along those lines..kind of a "War on Poverty"! Such a noble cause! What could go wrong??

War and defense. That's about it.
Might I remind you of Vietnam and Afghanistan? Iraq's not a slam dunk either. Might even say the modern war and defense is as bad as the DMV in many cases (cough 9/11, Boston, Miami, Texas church coughcough)

There is not enough money in the country to pay for this. The income tax rate would need to go to 80% then all income would drop and boom.. broke. That's why socialism only works when enforced by force.

A government big enough to give you everything you want is powerful enough to take everything you have,

Because government destroys everything it touches. Pretty much that simple. It’s already destroyed healthcare as is why not go all in. What could possibly go wrong

Because I think there is a better way that can cover just as many sick and needy. I don’t think our current system does that.

I also think if Republicans don’t compromise on health care, then we will end up with universal health care.

Answer this.

Name one thing.. one thing.. that the government does efficiently, effectively, within budget, and better than the private sector.
