We’re broke.
I also trust the market more than the government.

“Universal” is always a lie.
It turns power over individual lives over to smaller and smaller groups of people.

And also, my responsibility is to my family. Not yours and definitely not for someone that sneaks across our border. Our tax money can't stretch that far.

Because capitalism is freedom and socialism is slavery.

I don’t want to pay for your grandmas leukemia treatments.

Because I understand how the healthcare system works.
ETA: Not saying there aren’t issues. Im saying single payer will exacerbate a large nunber of various issues and reduce quality and availibility of care.

Because it is crap. Have you ever spent a day in the old Charity Hospital in New Orleans or the VA? If you did, you would not be asking such a naive question.

Yep. They take enough of my money and squander it murdering babies with planned parenthood, paying for European defense so they can have universal healthcare, and over paying government workers with meaningless jobs.
No more money. I have to balance my house hold budget. These dumbasses need to figure it out.

Because no government in history has ever come close to running anything even remotely efficient as any capitalist system to start. There are a few hundred other compelling reasons but that’s a start.

1. The government has a terrible track record at running social programs.
2. We already have a 100% run government healthcare system for our veterans and it's such a clusterfrick that people die waiting for their appointments. Where's the logic in saying that increasing such a program to cover everyone would make it better?

I wonder if Tesla would agree

try living in a country with universal health care and get back to me
if you are not rich its terrible
if you have money you get a totally different quality of care

Not nearly enough doctors for all. Not enough residencies.
So you can then legit say I don't want lines of poors ahead of me at M.D. office because no planning.
also $$$$$$.
And England lines and some Canadian provinces lines.
Simple answer, let the rich buy platinum plans. Free for basic coverages for all.

I'm not against it, but there's no such thing.
Ask Charlie Gard or Baby Alfie if the NHS is really the universal system it's advertised to be.

Against everything not enumerated in the Constitution as being in the power of the Fed.
Besides, if you've ever been to the DMV (state but same type situation will result if Fed takes over health system), or tried to deal with the Fed Bureaucracy on any issue it's a nightmare. Now, imagine dealing with that while dealing with cancer, or a heart problem, or while bleeding out from an accident.
The Feds cannot do anything except create problems to justify their existence in the 1st place. Name a successful resolution of a problem by the Feds in all of history. We'll wait.

The sickest 5 percent of the population consumes 50 percent of total health care costs. The healthiest 50 percent consume only 3 percent of the nation's health care costs. Many of the diseases in that 5 percent are due to lifestyle.
When you say "universal healthcare" are basically saying Medicare for all? Have you seen the estimated costs of Medicare for all? Ocasio-Cortez has. She says no problem. Just pay it!
