I live in Duluth. Both boys off to school now, so Mrs. Zwin and I are selling the big house and downsizing/simplifying. This means we are paying more attention to real estate than normal.

Our house is being bought (at a nice profit) by a couple relocating from the cities. Both are now in a position to work remotely (thanks to COVID).

Had a garage sale over the weekend. One guy that stopped has just bought another house in the neighborhood and is also leaving the cities.

Our realtor tells us she has heard many other similar stories.

Mrs. Zwin's mom and dad relocated to the cities from California and bought a downtown condo unit 2 weeks before George Floyd. An identical unit on a different floor is now listed at almost 100K less than they paid, and the entire complex has more listings than they have ever had. Needless to say, they are not happy.

Lots of inference and interpretation here, but it seems like people in the cities are getting tired of the crap, and it COULD be a sign that the blue groupthink that drives urban areas to be Democratic locks is weakening.

Or, I could be full of crap and wishful thinking.

I know a few hundred people that live in the Twin Cities. For those contemplating a move that I am aware if it's just to cross the river or out in the burbs to get awsy from the inner city.

I am sure many people are leaving the Lib infested cities. The problem is, many of those people are Democrat, maybe not extreme left but democrat. They will vote that way in the sub and it will become like the city.

This is exactly why Nevada has taken a bad turn. We've become California East.

I live in Florida.

They may be leaving the big city, but they are bringing their bullshite political opinions with them. Now they are just voting in your district. They do not learn lessons.

I think 90% of my uber drivers in Vegas have been people that sold their house in california....used the equity to pay outright for their home in the vegas area....and drive uber to chill and pay bills.

It’s so funny to see the big city democrats on twitter claim there are no issues in the cities and people aren’t moving out. Laughable

How will Duluth vote in November? Isn’t that the major metro area in the Iron Range? I know Trump lost that area in 2016, can he win it this year and if so, can it propel him to carry Minnesota since it was so close last time?

Sorry for so many questions, lol. I’ve felt for awhile that Trump would carry Minnesota this year and the difference would be that Iron Range area

Don’t know about Duluth specifically but a bunch of Dem mayors in the Iron Range came out in support of Trump.

This is actually bad news. We need them to stay in Cali, NY, DC Illinois and the big cities. And as far as I am concerned, Cali should just go ahead and secede.

Thank God the mayor and police chief in Dallas put a stop to anything like that going on here.

Of course, now they’re getting criticized months after the fact.

Duluth? The only reason I knew what and where that was as a kid was because the NOLA weatherman would constantly point out "The low today is Duluth was -10 degrees. The high...2.

I've seen it around Austin. These interlopers are like the plague. They're thrilled to be here, away from California, but they bring their Liberal miasma with them. To be honest , Austin has been f'ed up for decades, it's the places like Nashville that are being ruined forever.

Last time I was up in Duluth it has been around 10 years ago.
It is Beautiful country up there.
My grandson loved going to the maritime museum near Lake Superior.

Sold my second home in St Anthony, MN when my son transferred to Dallas, TX metro area this summer.
His place had an offer within a day on the market and I had an offer within 2 days on the market.
The people that bought my son’s place and my place work in downtown Minneapolis.
They wanted to be close to the city while getting out of the city due to up tick in crime.
