I guess they could not deny claims, go broke, and we all just sh*t the bed together.

I mean, the company could just not exist. Would the world then be a better place? I have medium size client groups desperate to get away from Blue Cross and there are almost no alternatives in certain parts of Michigan -- United is one of the only other choices.

Would you weep and gnash your teeth if some politician that hates your guts dies?
No. Why expect this from others?

Exactly.

You think these elites care when a peasant is gunned down? Or loses a family member due to coverage being denied?
Why should we wring our hands over this?
Nope and they spend as much as possible to live away from peasants, to send their kids to schools that aren't subject to peasant laws, vacation in places where peasants are prohibited.
They don't eat your food, let their kids be friends/date/marry your kids, they won't send their kids to your college,.
Elites thrive on getting above the peasantry and they don't care how it happens.

So you're okay with a man being gunned down by a masked coward? IOW, you're condoning a cold-blooded murder?

I have no idea what you're responding to.

It’s not about caring… it’s about the cheering

I don’t think it will be but as more and more is exposed about the evils that the legacy media can’t cover up anymore, the corruption of our justice system into two very distinct levels which I’d argue is probably really three or more (and has been corrupted for a long time) and if economics get bad this could be more common place.
The thing about this in modern day America is for you to go out and actually shoot someone you are basically forfeiting your life as well. So you have to be pretty damn despair/ nothing to lose to do it. Of course as things get worse you could see more of this. These things happen in Mexico and other places because there is a lot less hope.

Killer left messages on ammo.
quote:
NEW YORK (AP) — The masked gunman who stalked and killed the leader of one of the largest U.S. health insurance companies on a Manhattan sidewalk used ammunition emblazoned with the words “deny,” “defend” and “depose,” a law enforcement official said Thursday.
The official was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the ongoing investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.
UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, died in a dawn ambush Wednesday as he walked to the company’s annual investor conference at a Hilton in Midtown, blocks from tourist draws like Radio City Music Hall and the Museum of Modern Art.
The words on the ammunition may have been a reference to strategies insurance companies use to try to avoid paying claims.

Having once been a customer of United Healthcare, and knowing first hand how far they will go to get out of paying claims, I feel absolutely no sympathy for this person. None

I think the sentiment stems from negative personal experiences shared by people of all backgrounds when dealing with the medical system, especially when getting a claim denied or not being approved for some sort of treatment. Those are days, weeks, months that feel agonizing for the patient and their loved ones. It isn’t a George Floyd moment tho. Nobody is burning down their community because a greedy CEO rose their deductible or denied a claim. Just a little bit of morbid keyboard catharsis.

Yeah and it aint by being nice to "humanity" that gets something done

We had United years ago after they took over Community Health Network and had no problem with them. However, we switched to Ochsner once United was no longer offered by my employer; dealing with them was worse than a nightmare.

Not saying I condone cold-blooded murder but don’t expect me to have empathy for the guy who got rich by letting sick children die
