It's unfortunate that instead of being happy reading this I immediately have to wonder where the money is going instead because God knows we haven't seen a reduction in defense spending requests commensurate to this kind of force reduction.

The majority of our troops in Europe should be relocated to US bases. Those dollars (and they are significant) should be cycled through our local economies and not the damn ungrateful EU. 
Furthermore, to be fair, we should move the bulk of our troops in South Korea. It is time we stop bearing the load of the free world. Let the Japanese, South Koreans, Austrailians, etc., step up. Good geez we have been in Europe for almost 80 years and in Korea for about 70 years. Enough already! Bring those troops and those dollars to USA military bases.

The Ukraine has mired Russia for years in a grind it out war. We are not needed there to protect Europe. But, we do need a better presence in Southeast Asia and South America
