It's amazing how delusional the Pentagon is. Greatest country on earth and we have these fricking clowns in positions of power. Sickening.

The Afghan forces turning can certainly be disappointing, but I don’t know if it should really be surprising if the US brass would have bought an ounce of intelligence on how Afghan people align their interests.

This whole thing screams they were fed a bowl of shite by Afghani leaders and bought it. The only question is whether it was pure incompetence or the Taliban were involved in feeding false info to the US so they would pull out.

When I say incompetence, I mean on the Afghan side, we already know of the incompetence on our side.

On Bannons war room show. MTG said the briefings weren't even classified and Pelosi on the call only asked about NGO's. Pelosi was ignorant, not even knowing that the Afghan leader was already gone and it was already in the news.

Way ahead of this, all of them that worked with Americans were promised visas and only people on the State Dept list were allowed evac. 60K remain.

(I am presuming they saved the NGO's only?)

Every veteran of that war that I know says nobody over there wanted us there and none could be trusted.

It should not have been a surprise to anyone that the Afghan army was not going to fight.

Kamala Harris should be sent tonight for peace keeping mission and named the Afghan Czar. She will fix it like southern border.

They knew they had no will power. There is nothing about this that is a surprise.

I would not admit that. If this is what they call being prepared then it's more embarrassing than if they were not prepared.

The ANA was trained by a patchwork group of American Military (mainly the NG). We were too busy trying to win battles that we didn't think beyond the near term. The NG wanted skin in the game so their middle to Sr Officers could get combat time, because they knew it would be a big part in promotions in the future. They had Aviators and Logistic Officers teaching Security and Infantry tactics. That needs to be explained to the American People.

Apparently you need willpower.

Thanks man.

I still remember that warm May day in Mannheim, when I took the guidon from my battalion commander and he asked "are you ready?"

I said "yes sir!" Oh, how woefully wrong I was.

I grew more in those two years than I did the previous twenty something years of my life.

You have absolutely no clue how the training of the ANA was conducted. Your post proves it.
