The extra UI $ can only be given if the individual is eligible for state unemployment. If employers report an employee as failing to return to work, they forfeit the additional $.

Yes, they will.
The Democrats control the narrative. The press is in the tank for them. Although quite a few Republican Senators caught the problem in the first bill, they all had to hold their noses and vote for it to get what was needed for small business and some critical industries. Same thing the next time. None of them have the willpower to stand up to the Democrats because even when they do, the media attacks them or ignores them. If they would just have and display the principles their constituents voted for, who knows...they might actually serve a purpose. .

Under the Dem plan assuming this started in early March, a family of four on unemployment would collect $74,000 in unemployment benefits plus stimulus of $6800 for a little over $81k in income. Plus their mortgage would be suspended and they wouldn’t have to pay it, insurance payments would be suspended, etc. I’m not even accounting for food stamps and how much that’s worth.
And that’s take home. So to calculate gross pay add what, 30%? So you’re paying a family roughly $109,000 of income to sit at home and do nothing. Nothing.
It took me 12 years of college, long hours, no vacations and travel to finally earn that in construction. And i still had to pay my mortgage, my car note, my bills, and my student loans.
Seriously, frick these people.
