Well their optics are that by delaying, they're openly admitting that their urgency argument was a lie.
they are also openly admitting what I said from the start and that is that they want no part of public hearings on this because it will ruin them

There were not 67 votes to invoke the Reid rule regarding votes necessary for cloture on judicial nominees.

There will be no haggling with the House over Senate procedure. We will not cede our authority to try this impeachment. The House Democrats’ turn is over. The Senate has made its decision. This is for the Senate, and the Senate only, to decide.
