This is basically what Sarah Palin is saying. You are endorsing her words. Same thing.

Who knows what the political landscape will be in 2028? If trump wins in 2024, I’d say it would be much tougher for desantis to win then than in 2024. Why risk that? Of course, I guess this doesn’t account for trump losing to desantis in the primary and blowing it all up like the child he is.

DeSantis will not win the Primary. There is no path for that to happen.

The McCain / Palin ticket was one of the worst campaigns in recent history. Makes Romney/Ryan look strong.

that was 100% self sabotaged and it was clear as day, the deep state were working to destroy palin in that election. it was an inside job to give the dems a win while taking down palin. they just didnt think she had enough support to survive what they did, and to some extent, it worked as she was diminished in her state and their deep state operative Murkowski they were trying to help did win it after much election fraud to put her in.

He should.

Trump would probably beat him for the nomination.

He won't beat Biden because people want the status quo as bad as it is. Plus cheating although they really don't have to.

DeSantis would in effect kill his brand and momentum by chasing down the 2024 nomination and losing.

Let trump run again, win or lose its the only way the Republican party can move past him.

And honestly anyone who thinks trump would win in 2024 needs to stop huffing aerosol cans. He got beat by Joe Biden hiding in the basement for fricks sake. And if you blame cheating there's nothing stopping them from doing it again really.

This is the risk. Most if not all of MAGA is Ron's in 2028.

So if he is this great and will collect that much support in five short years, why not cash in on that support now? The cult is going to have to do some soul searching. Don't put it all on Ron.

Not really.

I agree with Palin's assessment, and have said it 6 months prior to her comments here, because with a DeSantis 2028 run MAGA can be organically handed over to DeSantis and this division we currently see between a declared candidate in Trump and undeclared candidate in DeSantis will be gone.

Everybody knows what Trump is and that he's going to sling shite. I don't think that hurts DeSantis long term. This sounds like wishful thinking.

I don’t necessarily agree. He’s in the enviable position of doing whatever he wants and likely succeeding. If he sits out, his brand is only going to grow. If he runs, he has a good shot at winning. I don’t think his brand will diminish by 2028 if he chooses not to run.

Are you saying that Trump's base is so childish and short-sighted that they wouldn't vote for a person in 2028 just because the person entered the primary in 2024?

Really?

I disagree that DeSantis will damage his brand by challenging and losing the nomination to Trump.

Ronald Reagan lost the ‘76 Primary to Ford. He then returned to defeat incumbent Peanut Farmer in a landslide to become the OG MAGA President, winning every state but Minnesota in his ‘84 reelection.
