You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

PA has their own SCOTUS?

This really isn't even close to the worst gerrymandering I've seen.

But several legal experts and GOP operatives said they don’t expect the Supreme Court to intervene. Unlike recent partisan gerrymander cases out of North Carolina and Wisconsin, the Pennsylvania case deals with state law, not federal.

They're right. If anything, this is what the SCOTUS wants - state political issues decided by the states.

Yet they never seem to want to tell me what those views are when pressed?

I wonder why that is?

It would be reasonable if we can kill majority minority districts.

Until then, frick the Democrats on this issue. They're full of it.

The entire liberal meme about how terrible gerrymandering is and how Republicans are awful for doing it is dumb.

It was LIBERALS who created the requirement for majority minority districts (123 such districts by the way).

Basically, the frickers want the following.

1. Special districts set aside strictly for them.
2. Every other district divided fairly.

Well no fricking shite! I guess they would want that!

Is it?

This is just the beginning of this. This will be a silent movement inside of the Democrat party as backed by Obama who said that he was going after redistricting as part of his post Presidency initiative

But the dumbshit dems were stupid enough to codify it to make 3 republican districts for every majority bkack one

Now naturally they want the court to fix their stupidity

These districts should be mathematically derived

Districts should be defined by nothing but existing political boundaries, major highways, natural features like waterways or ridges, with no more than an additional 3 straight lines to encapture the appropriate number of inhabitants. District boundaries should be designed by an AutoCad programmed to create the most compact districts possible. Absolutely no demographic, political registration, or education/occupation/wealth data should be permitted as design parameters.

I am tired of these octopus districts created in smoke-filled rooms to fit some temporary political agenda.

Even when they benefit my side - it is neither fair nor logical and only generates divisiveness and distrust.

It is foolish to expect politicos to draw up equitable representations by feel

This is a hell of the Dems own making - in somehow making the logical leap that a white person cannot fully and adequately represent a black constituent, there have been these massive districts REQUIRED by federal courts to be drawn to guarantee a "majority minority" district. So, what happens in all the other districts? They are over-represented with whites which gives the Rs an advantage, however slight, in ALL those other districts on demographics. Now, it doesn't make as much of a difference in Mass. and CA, but it sure as hell does in Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

One reaps what one sows.

PA is a battleground state in national elections. The GOP holding 13 of the state’s 18 House seats is gerrymandering at its worst.

It's not that unusual when dem voters concentrate themselves in small areas and it isn't all on the GOP. Dems wanted districts guaranteed to elect minorities so instead of having districts that were purple with a good mix of people you get far left and far right districts. When you put all the minorities in districts it leaves just white people which trend republican.

If you are required to draw minority-majority districts, by definition you are being forced to heavily concentrate Dem voters into a few districts because minorities vote overwhelmingly Dem.

This.

Also if they didn't do this you wouldn't end up with embarrassments like Maxine waters. You'd get a moderate dem or rep who is competent, white or black they'd have to be competent if you had a good mix of people in the district.
