Doing nothing? Is that what you think the public school system is doing?

There are large tax base divergent issues that are not the result of poor county management.

No there aren't.

So what's the point now to move to a nicer school district?

You'll pay higher home prices and still get to experience the innate awesomeness of diversity. If you're really lucky your kid will get some rich and vibrant culture upside their head.

The school districts that sued presented extensive evidence showing wide achievement gaps between poorer and more affluent districts, the ruling said.

This has nothing to do with funding. The D.C. Public School System is one of the best funded, yet poorly performing districts in the country.

You shouldn’t have to move to one to get a great education

Suggest you read The Bell Curve. The original book not the wiki bastardization.

The river parishes rapid school development in the 1970's was a result of greatly increased tax base do to industrialization, providing resources for the best school systems in Louisiana. Back water parishes did not have the resources to attract qualified teachers.

Compare Ceder Ridge school systems, with a huge boost in high value real estate in NW Austin,, as opposed to Manor high school in south east Austin where there was much less development ten years ago.

Consider Ponce Puerto Rico, When Pres. Reagan eliminated the foreign oil/us produced price differential. The immediate shutdown of a dozen large petrochemical companies destroyed the school system.

Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans and others have experienced capital flight that depressed property tax funding.

Funding is the PA court issue. Effective use of that funding is a local issue, best managed by local folks that can be voted out. Again Bell Curve wise, effective use mapping will give a broad range of accomplishment

Every additional cent in school funding is wasted. In fact, education in our nation would drastically improve if we slashed funding.

This is the craziest thing to me. Why does it take THAT long? And why an 800 page ruling? Courts have gotten out of hand with time management IMO.

I'd take a small town school with very little resources and teachers who are doing it because they love it any day of the week.

bullshite. Schools are a major selling point on residential real estate. I once moved from a shittier part of an otherwise good district to a more affluent district to get a better education for my kids.
