When are they going to start locking up the real criminals in DC?

Again, if local elected officials refuse to do their job (which is protecting their citizens) then the Federals should most certainly step in and assist them.

Is the occurrence of any crime at all indication that the local authorities are refusing to their jobs?

It seems like you're advocating for nation building in the USA.

This is true. It is not true of Chicago or NYC. If he sends the guard into those cities expect major pushback.

As there should be, unless the governors of those states agree to it of course.

What about Houston? Now that is a city with high crime but no mention of it? Strange.

That’s a question for the governor of Texas

Is nation building not the roll of a national government? I would much rather us be nation building our own nation than random sandboxes and jungles abroad.

You sure ask a LOT of questions.
Jaywalking -- no.
Spitting on the sidewalk -- no.
Grafiti -- no.
Violent crime to the level that citizens don't feel safe to walk the street at night -- YES
Rapes to the point that women are afraid to go out alone --YES.
Murder rates that are higher than some 3rd world countries -- YES.

The US is already a Nation. I just want to Make America GREAT and SAFE Again. I want the same things that all law-abiding citizens want. Only reason you are against it is because 1) Trump's doing it and 2) if he is successful poor folks that vote democrat might wake up and realize that the democrats do not want what is best for them or for America as a whole.

Governor Landry sent LASP twice last year to combat the excessive crime. Any drop you are referencing should be attributed to the additional law enforcement being employed, not some arbitrary, non existent law abiding nature of the residents.
quote:

January 2024:

Governor Landry officially launched Troop NOLA, the first regular State Police troop dedicated to New Orleans since 2020, with a goal of deploying 40 troopers to enhance public safety.

June 2024:

As part of a long-term effort, the FBI led Operation Clean House in partnership with state and local agencies, including the LSP, to combat violent crime through targeted enforcement actions.

Honestly with how crime has gotten out of hand around the country there probably should be NG to assist police under certain criteria so it can't be abused. I feel like police departments are understaffed which compounds the crime problems as well.

Long a U.S. 'murder capital,' New Orleans is on pace for 50-year low in killings in 2025

Ummmm...isn't New Orleans like third in the country right now for homicides?

And remember...same as last time...per capita.

quote:

St. Louis, MO (69.4 per 100,000)
Baltimore, MD (51.1)
New Orleans, LA (40.6)
Detroit, MI (39.7)
Cleveland, OH (33.7)
Las Vegas, NV (31.4)
Kansas City, MO (31.2)
Memphis, TN (27.1)
Newark, NJ (25.6)
Chicago, IL (24.0)

And as a bonus
New Orleans among top 10 most dangerous cities in the US.

Chicago is supposedly at a 30-year low, yet it’s still insanely high. Local governments don’t have the resources to fix it due to corruption, bad leadership and leftist policies. The guard is now needed to get it done.

The problem for the left is that it spotlights the failures of their leadership when Trump fixes DC in a week. It really is a genius move by Trump. Left leadership is beside themselves and terrified they are being exposed.

It's more like re-building. The goal of this is to tear down the sloth in local governments which has allowed violent crime to fester, or at least tear it down enough to show people that their communities can be safer if local enforcement is happening rather than just being mimed.

What do you foresee will happen in these cities when the military is removed?

It’s DC, the federal government is the local authority.

You know that DC is governed by the mayor and city council. The POTUS does not oversee municipal services in DC .

Federal law grants Congress ultimate authority over the District, which can be exercised to override local decisions.

Section 740 of the Home Rule Act gives the president the ability to use D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department for "federal purposes" that the president "may deem necessary and appropriate."
