As was stated yesterday by the reporter to SHS, money from trade doesn’t go to the Treasury. It goes to private entities, companies, people. It makes it to the Treasury through taxes. So, Americans will pay for the Wall through tax dollars. And, that has to be appropriated by Congress. And, they won’t agree, so, No Wall.

I don’t care, personally. We waste billions on so many things. Use money for the Wall. But, he’s clueless. During the campaign, he said he’d build the whole Wall for $8 billion. Then $12 billion. Now, it’s $25-30 billion. It will probably be higher than that when he’s done.

My guess is there will be no Wall.

If he'd hire Mexican labor we'd save a ton of money and have the wall built in half the time.

So kinda like shutting down our factories and shipping jobs overseas. I thought that is why our job market is in the position it is today. Now as long as the Mexicans would pay their fair share of taxes on their earnings like you and I would if we were doing the building then I could accept that. However, something tells me that wouldn't happen. Hell, they already walk across the border and buy U.S. shite without paying taxes like you and I do when we buy the same article they do.

Even the military can’t build the wall without congressional appropriations.

Even if military engineers build the wall (which they are not trained to do) they would need $ to buy supplies.

I'm ready for Trump to actually go through with this, rather than tweeting about it.
This.

I get the feeling he's just spouting off to keep his base hanging in there after he completely blew the dog on wall funding in the budget yesterday.

I'm tired of words and tweets. And tired of moving the goalposts posts when we're supposed to be "winning". There's no doubt that a wall is the first step toward a permanent and effective southern border solution.

Once I see new sections of a wall being placed, I'll change my tune... But until then, I just see Trump blovoating and puppeteering his constituency to keep them on board when he has utterly broken on one of his biggest campaign promises.

We get it from you bro. We saw your sackless thread you started yesterday

I'm sorry you can't take an opinion that's different from yours. You and I are on the same side, here. We both voted for Trump. I just have the ability to be unbiased in my future prediction and I predict that if the wall doesn't start being built before the 2020 election, many folks who voted for Trump won't vote for him again.

That doesn't include myself. I'm voting for him either way because he's better than anyone from the left.

Quit being a red snowflake. You're embarrassing to the Right outside of the PT bubble.

Didn't we just give them a few billion though? How does that factor in?

Yes, it does make me think of how I just gave my 6 year old a few bucks to go buy his mother and I some Christmas presents.

There are days I wake up tired, dreading work, bored with the daily grind.

Then I remind myself that someone is out there, live-ejaculating to Trump tweets, and it gives me some perspective.

I agree with the President, but frankly I do not care who pays for it, I just want it up and guarded

This is the main point. I don't think the people that voted for Trump ever cared who paid for it, as long as it was built.

Mexico is paying (indirectly) for the Wall through the new USMCA, the replacement for NAFTA! Far more money coming to the U.S.

That's an interesting way to frame it.

A better way would be to tax all wire transfers south of the border by 25%.

When Jose sends half his cash (from an under the table job) back to Guatemala we can get what he should have been paying in taxes. And earmark that money directly to the wall.

And Ted Cruz said we should use the billions we siezed from El Chapo for the wall as well.
