On February 23, the 11 Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee signed a letter to Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell stating their unprecedented intention to withhold consent on any nominee made by President Obama
Mitch followed the lead of those 11 Republicans or was it the other way around?
McConnell throws down the gauntlet: No Scalia replacement under Obama

The swiftness of McConnell’s statement — coming about an hour after Scalia’s death in Texas had been confirmed — stunned White House officials who had expected the Kentucky Republican to block their nominee with every tool at his disposal, but didn’t imagine the combative GOP leader would issue an instant, categorical rejection of anyone Obama chose to nominate.

Someone's going to have to tell me what's wrong with the Heritage Foundation and this Project 2025. From what I've seen, they line up perfectly with what we should want from the federal government.

I haven’t gone through it with a fine-toothed comb. What I have seen has been not shocking.

Mitch (or whoever) wasnt holding that seat for a (R) prez. Trump had the nomination pretty much in hand by the time Garland was announced
And Mitch wasnt voting for Trump, so . . . .
You do the maths

Heritage Foundation with some pie in the sky ideas. The religious ones are hard meh, but zero issues with getting rid of government employees that agree with destroying the Constitution. Left is pissed the right is finally catching up to them.

It’s so absurd how the Blue Anon people fell for this. Have they ever met anyone in MAGA? MAGA people are like WWE, NASCAR, and UFC fans that like getting drunk and high in fields, scoring, having a good job and secure borders, and being left the frick alone. Does that sound like a bunch of people who want a Handmaid’s Tale society? Of course not.

I started hearing about it on Reddit, and just assumed it was a boogieman. I like how it exploded because Biden sucks and it's an easy talking point, only for everyone to figure out it was the conservative version of the CATO Institute. If I held far left think tanks against Dems I would legit never vote Dem again.

Resharing This Now That Donald Trump Says He Knows NOTHING About Project 2025 Yet Every Liberal On X Keeps Pushing It
PROOF Biden Admin is using foreign bot farms to push their Project 2025 Lies
Huge spikes in searches all in the exact locations notorious for hosting bot farms
“Is Joe Biden using bots in 3rd world countries to push conspiracy theories about Donald Trump? So Joe Biden's official campaign Twitter (X) claims that more and more people are searching the term Trump's project 2025. So we decided to just check out who was searching it.
- We asked Google Trends and there's several big spikes. 1 on June 13th with 100% search popularity in Senegal Africa.
The term search popularity had another push yesterday in Senegal. At 10: 04, it was at 0% popularity, and then 10: 12, it spiked straight up to a 100, and then straight back down. (See video for the spikes in Google Trends on the graph. It’s as clear as day it’s a huge bot spike. It makes it much easier to understand seeing the graph)
There were more pushes today. It peaks in countries like India, Ukraine, Bangladesh, and Vietnam, all places notorious for massive bot farms.
In the past 30 days, in terms of countries who have actually searched the term, the US is the country where the term is the least popular, and it all just makes me wonder.”

Another act of self-sabotage by Trump. All he had to do was throw some laurels toward Heritage but say he is opposed to their policies regarding abortion.
Mandate for Leadership is something Heritage has been doing since 1981 and Project2025 is just their latest policy document. They do this every election.
This is all about abortion. Trump hasn't read Project2025, he's too lazy. But he knows about it. Heritage and Project2025 are 100% behind Trump and they assumed Trump would endorse a pro-life agenda. Trump has been complimentary of them in the past.
Trump is straight up lying about not knowing anything about Project2025 or who is behind it, and trying to act like he doesn't know the Heritage Foundation.
Trump Admin Embraces Heritage Policy Recommendatiosn
Analysis completed by Heritage determined that 64 percent of the policy prescriptions were included in Trump’s budget...With approximately 70 former Heritage employees working for the Trump transition team or as part of the administration, the policy recommendations have served as guidelines for reducing the size and scope of the federal government through specific and detailed actions....Over the past several months, Heritage’s executive branch relations staff reviewed the 334 policy recommendations and met with senior administration officials in the several agencies. Heritage analysts briefed administration officials on the recommendations, provided additional insight and information, and advocated for reform.
Trump's name is littered throughout the Project 2025 document. Remember people like Ken Cuccinelli? He was at DHS during Trump - he is one of the authors. One of the Trump Transition team lawyers is an author. The list goes on and on.
In every section of Project2025 you find mentions like, "need to bring back the Trump policy of x y z".
Christopher Miller? Yeah, he's in Project2025 as well.
Peter Navarro? Yeah, him too. He contributes a 30 page section on Fair Trade, one of Trump's major platform themes.
This is a dumb move from Trump. He's just alienated and insulted a lot of people that were loyal to him and produced a 900 page document as a checklist and plan to set him up for success. It's fine to not agree with all of it, but you can't toss these people under the bus.
Imagine being Navarro right now, in prison, and you were loyal to Trump and contributed to Project2025, and you find out he just disavowed you and Heritage and the document you wrote with the explicit intention of setting the conditions for success in a new Trump term. Also, what is Steve Bannon thinking right now, as he just started a prison sentence? Is there any reason for any of these people to go to bat for Trump ever again?
Since this is all about abortion - Trump should be throwing haymakers at Graham right now, putting him on blast for sabotaging Republicans in the midterms due to his comments on abortion. It will be telling if he stands by this assault on Heritage and never does more than his one whisper about Graham's abortion remarks - and we all know Graham is going to do this again, probably in October.
For some added context, this is what is driving the left mad about Project2025. This is just one snapshot of what you will find in the Project2025 document. This comes from their chapter on HHS.
Goal #1: Protecting Life, Conscience, and Bodily Integrity. The Secretary should pursue a robust agenda to protect the fundamental right to life, protect conscience rights, and uphold bodily integrity rooted in biological realities, not ideology. From the moment of conception, every human being possesses inherent dignity and worth, and our humanity does not depend on our age, stage of development, race, or abilities. The Secretary must ensure that all HHS programs and activities are rooted in a deep respect for innocent human life from day one until natural death: Abortion and euthanasia are not health care.

MAGA is not about "being left alone". That's just the avatar they see in the mirror.

No sir. It shows how different he is from these old school policy wonks.
It's in the little details where you can find the "problems" here.
Such as;
quote:
Led by the right-wing think tank the Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 is a presidential transition operation—basically a government-in-waiting if former President Donald Trump returns to office
Means GOPe
quote:
Project 2025 said on its website that the handbook is “the next conservative President’s last opportunity to save our republic.”
Is Trump "Conservative" enough?
quote:
Part of the plan includes firing federal employees that conservatives believe are preventing right-wing policies from being implemented and replacing them with their own picks
Replacing them?
No, no, no
Many more examples of how this isn't THE Trump we currently know.
ETA; Not to mention it sounds a "little like" Trump's "Agenda 47", which it's NOT.
