I'm still trying to link a government hit on Trump to a lanky 20 year old kid.
I can certainly agree that a fall guy could be recruited to carry out the most important part of the assassination plot, but to put all my eggs in the basket in this kid is hard to fathom.

20 years old is not a "kid". Most of the US combat ground Soldiers in WW2 were 20 years old, maybe 21.

In Vietnam the US ground forces placed teenagers in combat all the time. It was normal for 19 and 20 year olds to be in combat.

You’re right… political figures never have been the target of their own government.

I'd be surprised if Trump had more than a couple dozen USSS ground personnel in his detail Saturday, and not all of them would have been on shift. Advance work is done by the field offices for the most part.

A dozen / half dozen will the help of local police should not have been able to stop this guy that was flopping around the most obvious position over the course of multiple minutes with the help of civilians calling their attention to it?

I admit I know next to nothing of SS details, but the level of incompetence necessary to allow this to happen is hard for me to get my mind around which is where a lot of people are.

She's an incompetent corporate hire given a job by an incompetent corpse

Biden didn't hire her - he doesn't know what's going on, the man is senile. She was put there by others, and she was put there because she will do what she's told for her party. She's a political actor.

quote:

The truth is right there and you won't see it. In every other context, the Biden administration is destroying America via massive incompetence and DEI pandering

It's not incompetence - it's malice. They are destroying the country and they know they are destroying the country. Look at how they've contrived everything at the border, giving "parole" and inventing new statuses for people, having the CBPOne app created. This is orchestrated. We casually say it's stupidity and incompetence because it's so bad for the nation but all of this is intentional. It's a controlled demolition of our nation. It's not an accident of incompetence. Mayorkas is evil, but he isn't incompetent. Same is being done to our energy sector and in lawfare. These people are not stupid, they are evil.

quote:

but in this specific instance they are capable of what would have to have been a massive conspiracy to undermine Trump's security detail?

This does not require a massive conspiracy. You are making this more than it needs to be in order to skew the debate in your favor.

quote:

Is it not far more likely that the detail and advance teams and leadership were simply incompetent as well?

No. Again, joint probability. Advance team could have been perfect. It may have been the advance team that said 'someone must be on the roof' and it probably was - that is logical for them to conclude. On-site security could have been perfect. All that's required is one person to insure no one is on that roof and whatever mechanism to put the shooter there comes into play and that's it. The shooter was put there by outside actors. The only thing required on the inside was to not have someone on that roof. The conspiracy here requires very little but your suggestion of incompetence requires a lot of pieces that normally function very well to all fail - and they must all fail in a specific way and at this specific location - the most important shooting position at that place. What you're suggesting is not plausible.

You're clinging to this lawyer bullshite of not assigning malice to something that can be explained by incompetence and yet there is no empirical support for that concept, and the simplest, most probable explanation for this environment is malice.

This is not an eye witness misidentifying a car in a hit and run. We're talking about a security apparatus with multiple and redundant safeguards and checks. These activities require deliberate intervention to make them not function as intended. That's how they are designed. The process is set up to prevent the mistakes. They only require simple vigilance and executing one's assigned task to make them work. For them to not work, someone must intervene. I don't know if USSS uses CARVER or what, but there are tools out there that are used - checklists, spreadsheets, reports, there are inputs and outputs, meetings, force planning etc. It's a process. Someone intervened here to stop it from working.

You want us to believe a bunch of pieces all failed at the same time in the same way at the same place to produce the most favorable scenario for a shooter and you want us to ignore that instead you could have one or two pieces that intervene to stop a normally automatic process from functioning as designed.

This was a hit.

I tend to agree. I just can’t bring myself to believe they’d hire a 20 year old kid to do this job.

For those who do believe it’s a conspiracy, why in the world would they hire someone who didn’t make their HS rifle team? There would have to be hundreds of thousands of better choices, if not more.

Also, if this happened to Biden, I can guarantee you people on this board would be saying he set it up himself so he would get the sympathy vote to help him win.

I’m not saying I know exactly what happened, but facts don’t matter to a lot of people and it is more about general feeling on the subject matter.

If Trump beats you in November, I think you’ll do well in office if you continue down this path.

Maybe we’ll have an honest media one day to report on it.

The answer to this question is always less than you want us to think.

Have you ever heard of the Gulf of Tonkin? How many people do you think were in on that confirmed conspiracy theory that was only proven decades after the fact? Do you want to try to convince us that every sailor was in on it?

The only insanity here is someone calling everything a conspiracy theory.

Explain to me why I was allowed into a trump rally in Ga. In 2019 WITHOUT Being METAL DETECTED?
My wife and I were baffled. I was intentionally not scanned.

IMHO it's the left wing that tried to kill someone over politics who have lost their minds, not us folks talking about what and how it happened.

Left wing extremism needs to be eradicated

We really don’t know much about the kid. Also, this kid made a fatal shot under pressure at medium rifle range. If Trump doesn’t turn his head at the last moment he’s taking one in the skull. My point is that this kid seems like a ghost at this point.

What’s funny is that many “conspiracy theory’s” from the right have been proven factual of late.

Hire a 20 year old to do the doing as a lone wolf? That seems incredible.

Hiring a disaffected 20 year old to be the fall guy when there may have been another, trained shooter? That tracks, remarkably.

Hiring a 20 year old with a history of being bullied and no strong social ties who may have deviated from the plan and started shooting early when LEOs were investigating his position? I can buy that.

The outright stupidity of clinging to this antiquated, cliche way of thinking, in the face of so much evidence, is really disturbing.

Indeed!! Any objective observer knows this and since our government is controlled by Democrats along with their aligned media and big business entities, it is safe to say that the Democrats have engaged in a preemptive coop to eliminate their main opposition, former President Trump.

Yea totally insane to think our SS let the only building within 1000 yards unoccupied, identified the shooter as a threat early in the day, let him take out a frickING RANGE FINDER use it on the podium, and carry in a backpack but then did nothing until after shots were fired?

You my friend are the one that is crazy...
