You can't make this stuff up.
I guess the next step is lighting themselves on fire in a show of racial solidarity

quote:
An Oregon school has declared itself as “white supremacist” in its newly proposed “Antiracist Vision Statement.”
“Beaverton School District perpetuates institutional racism and embodies a white supremacist culture,” reads the “Equitable Policies Board Report” put forth by the “Equitable Policies Task Force” at the school.
The draft, which the task force members believe will pass in a vote Monday, is part of the school’s “Antiracist Vision Statement.” It promised to “confront” and “eliminate” all forms of “conscious” and “unconscious” racism and “bias” from Beaverton schools while calling for “permanent” funding to help accomplish the vision.
The story comes after a report earlier this year that the district sent out an email to parents touting a districtwide “Black Student Graduation Ceremony.” The ceremony, which was organized by the Beaverton Black Parent Union, said the event was “open to any senior student in-district who identifies as Black (including African-American, Afro-Latino, African or mixed-race Black).”
The Black Student Graduation Ceremony also welcomed “those who may not have credits to participate in [the mainstream] graduation,” though it would not serve as a replacement for the regular graduation ceremony.

I suppose the DOJ should sue them for violating civil liberties.

The DOJ investigation of Yale is quite seriously one of the most brilliant things from the Trump admin.

Take. Them. At. Their. Word.
They live in Oregon. They are as likely to see a unicorn as interact with a black person. they probably ARE racist.
Their problem lies in the assumption that they are also good people. and since they are good people AND racist, anyone that disagrees with them (bad people) are both BAD and RACIST. Since they are at least good, they then feel the need to tell everyone else what their problems are and how they must live to make amends.
All the while, we in states that actually have integrated in reality, point and laugh at their stupidity.

You have to look a lot longer and harder to find real racism in this country than 75% of the population understands, but education is one of the few places you can actually find it - as evidenced by the quote above.
And, of course - education is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat party so that's consistent with what we all know: there ain't a lot of racism in America, there are no hoards of racists in 2021, but of the racists that are out there, they're concentrated in the political Left.

I trust that they have separate water fountains for black and white students. Separate but equal Y'all! It's a thing now.

In the 3+ years that I've been living in this state, I can go weeks, if not months, without seeing a single black person. When you do see a black person, they don't look like a thug.
It's clear that people here have lived a sheltered existence and it's pretty freaking awesome to experience it.
With blacks making up less than 0.5% of the population here, I feel like I'm about as far away from all of the BLM bs and gangbangers as I can get.

Just glance around the map and assume that your experience is generally the same for most that live in states with probably 5% or less. That's TWENTY states with 5% or less black population. If you go up to 10%, it makes 31 states with 10% or less total black population...which s UNDER the national average. That's an amazing statistic when you stand back and think about it.
In most of these cases, we're being told we're systemically racist by people who voluntarily live in states that are as white a notebook paper. They complain about the idea of white flight in cities in states in which they don't live, from states that themselves are white flight in their entirety.

I support their right to perform this action.

Yeah. It's probably a little different on the other side of the Cascades.
I didn't move here for the demographics, but it's been a major bonus...especially seeing how much things have changed in this country in the last couple of years.
The more that the country goes in the direction that we've been heading, the more I'd prefer to live as far away from it all as possible.

So glad I don’t live in Oregon. Or anywhere on the left coast.
They have lost their minds!

You may as well say, "Sure...but go to a black person's house, and there will be all kind of black people there."
Portland is around 6% black. It's one of the whitest major cities in America.

Here's the true reason for this. They want more money that will go to anything but "racial equality " while still being able to bask in the the glow of self righteousness for helping end an issue that doesn't exist. Thats pretty slick on their part but the people there are too stupid to notice.

It's less than 6.
I understand the city and demographics. My comment was opposing the hood rat statement.
Half the black folk aren't your good neighbor types. Eta... they aren't as bad as your NOLA/BR types though so that's a plus.

It's probably nothing like you're thinking it would be. I was expecting to be surrounded by Leftists when I moved out here, but there are a lot of friendly, down to Earth, hardworking people in the state.
Most of them despise the idiots in Portland, Salem, and Eugene as much as anyone else does. But I can see why they stay and fight, instead of fleeing to Idaho or whatever. It's a beautiful state.

Not that far off. They are mostly in a few areas which are easily avoided and there aren't many of them.

Plenty do but can't admit that publicly.
I love the demographics.
