Oregon has a ballot measure to decriminalize small amounts of heroin, cocaine, LSD, and other hard drugs

EXCELLENT!! I hope it passes along with their Antifa mayor for Portland.

Good. DGAF if an adult wants to poison themselves.

I remember when Colorado was, along with Washington, the first to make recreational weed legal. We had trash from all over the country flooding in. If Oregon is the first to pass this, they'll get the same result.

More hypocrisy from the left. People using can legitimately hurt others in a number of ways. But o’Lord let’s not infect others with Covid.

Hopefully, this drives prices down and attracts every homeless addict in the country.

Honestly America should follow Japans measures in all of this and do the exact same thing. If you are an adult most everything should be made available to you either over the counter or by prescription from either an MD or by Kampo traditionalist.

If you get caught with or peddling street drugs outside of these liberal boundaries 10 years in jail getting only fish heads and rice.

They don't have these problems we do.

Exactly!! There’s a bunch in our church parking lot.

Plus, it’s a pain in the arse at work when schedules are interrupted because of alcoholics and drug addicts - this stuff does affect other people

Heroin, meth, and crack I'm not sure about. I can be convinced that they should remain illegal because those drugs can cause addicts to commit crimes against innocent people (true addiction will cause some people to do crazy stuff). But then again, you will never be able to stop the flow of any illegal drugs, and drug cartels are the ones making the money and gaining the power from those drugs. So I'm torn on those drugs.

But the fact that pot is still illegal is insane. And there's no reason why hallucinogens like LSD and shrooms should be illegal since those drugs aren't physically addictive, so they won't cause people to do crazy stuff to get their "fix".

We should limit everyone's freedom because some people litter? People can just as easily litter with razor blades, corrosive chemicals, and rusty scrap metal. Why not make it illegal to do the actions that actually affect others? No matter how much you pretend it does, someone getting high does not affect you. It's what they do after that that does, and all those actions can just as easily be committed by a sober person.

That’s illegal already. Legalizing drugs won’t make it less illegal.

With all the trash already there, will there be a noticeable difference? And, since the fires, there should be plenty of open space for their asses in the ashes.

This is simply not true.

Now it may be true for your line of work, but for others getting drunk or high does affect other people.

From the places where I have worked - hospitality industry, sales, and social services - when someone is high or drunk it can affect job performance (good or bad). Or it can affect their ability to just get to work, which is inconvenient for everyone. And yes, it can be argued that a sober person can do this, but when you have an alcoholic or an addict ... it just tends to happen more.

I'm all for legalizing all the crap, but it's naive to think it doesn't affect others. It's naive to think that everyone waits until the weekend to smoke a joint.
