I’ve been chewing on this for a few days now:

What non numerical amount, accounting for any inflation, should your salary be so that you have pride in your worth per hour?

(Please note this isn’t a topic where I’m arguing for a certain minimum wage. I’m simply wondering which minimum amount would make me feel content.)

Here’s the one I’m currently at:

After 15-20 minutes of work, I should have enough money to walk into any average fast food joint and order a meal. That would be about $5-$8.

That would put my hourly wage at $24-$32. Annual salary would be $48,000-$64,000, assuming a 40 hour work week and 50 weeks/yr worked.

Kind of blows my mind that this annual salary I came to isn’t even that high!
