One thing I don't get about far-leftists: Love high income taxes in NJ, then move to FL

I am an Independent. I have voted Republican and I have voted Democratic. Taxes pay for societal needs, but taxes should not be so HIGH.

Why is it that leftists in high taxed states like NJ and NY and CT love high taxes, but with the Trump tax cut bill are complaining about paying high taxes, and contemplating moving to FL...to propose more taxes?

I’ve known a few NJ residents and property owners and they all hated the property taxes there. Somebody voted to increase property taxes, but from my informal and small set polling it wasn’t the property owners.

Hint: check inner city Trenton and Newark.

Edit: just noticed you specified income tax, but the property tax angle is still valid.

Ivory tower rich leftists are the world's biggest hypocrites:

The love the idea immigration, but are the first people to send their kid's to all white private schools and live in lily white gated communities.

They vote for candidates who promise high taxes and big regulation, then do everything in their power to lower the amount of taxes they pay and find ways around regulations on their businesses.

They believe they are supporting the party of the average joe, but look down on anybody who didn't go to college and mock them relentlessly.

Happens regularly. It’s usually not an economic thing but a social.

Live in State A and vote for politicians that say things I like. State A’s politicians increase taxes. Move to state B. Hear new politicians keeps saying social things I like and vote for them. Then wonder why cost of living in Austin keeps going through the roof.

This is something that bugs me. And making fun of the south; if you make fun of the south, you are making fun of the people of the south, which are poors and blacks.

The funniest part of high property taxes is that renters pay more than homeowners.

Decades ago when I was single and in my first “starter” home, I was a manager. I was discussing current events with one of my crew who was a renter. A property tax increase was on the ballot, and I opined that we should vote it down and make government live within its means. He laughed and said he was going to vote for it “so that white boys like me” would pay for it. I laughed back at him, and said I wasn’t paying any of it and he would pay all of it plus more. He was confused.

So I explain that the renter would pay the property tax on the rental because the owner charged his cost plus a return on his investment. So his lease would pass the increase to him immediately or in his next lease, plus occupancy, plus profit. He didn’t follow, so I offered a simple example. Suppose your rental is accessed $100 a month. Your land lord is going to calculate that as a cost of renting and will pass it on to you so your rent includes taxes. But suppose his unoccupied rate is 2 months a year. His cost is then $120 dollars a month. And suppose he wants a 10% increase over cost for a profit, that’s $12 a month. So where a homeowner would pay $100, a renter would pay $132. He didn’t like this. Then I pointed out that my starter house all those decades ago was valued below Louisiana homestead exemption, so I paid $0! Last laugh belonged to me!

Liberals suck. They leave sky high taxed states only to vote for the same people who want to do the same thing there. All they care about are bs social issues that don’t really matter

That is their credo: Make everyone else as miserable as us. They have to move around to spread the misery.

Leftists only love taxes that other people pay.

They spend way too much time obsessing over money and property owned by other people, and how other people live their lives.

I hate my property taxes, but I love NJ. This is my sixth state and by far my favorite. Worth every penny.

It’s even worse when they tell you that they live down here just long enough to claim Florida residency for tax reasons yet at the same time run their mouths about locals, the south in general, how much better it is up there, and overtly preach overly progressive views.

Also old, liberal, Jewish ladies from New Jersey are by far the most overtly racist people I’ve ever met and I grew up in Louisiana and moved to Florida in my early 20s.

Well they don't actually like high taxes. They like free shite while you pay.

The stupid fricks a move because they never make the connection. When their taxes go up they just think they're getting fricked. They make no connection to all the free shite they asked for

But this really isn't true. Sure they complain about those taxes. But the things the taxes fund are really fricking popular

The morons never make the connection so they keep voting for people who promised more and more of the free shite
