Scenario: Concurrently EO a freeze on any entitlement programs that cannot be proven to be an American, hire temp staff for 30 days to man the border, hire temp staff for 30 days to then process any illegal in this country to be a tax-paying citizen, as long as they have a clean record and no ties to gangs.

After 30 days, any and all without documentation get kicked the frick out, no appeals, no pleas, no rationales. While that works itself out, shore up the screening process to limit who we want in. And eliminate the ability to be on generational welfare or perpetual entitlement programs without somehow being a productful member of society (for all in this country). No due process to illegals, kick em out.

Gains: Cut losses on future entitlement leeching, less cost for ICE and all the court and jail costs for housing illegals as they appeal. Gives an opportunity to get income tax, while empowering some who really care to get out of the shadows and rise up. Saves cost on a wall or tanks and snipers

Cons: Initial outcry, protest (these are happening anyway), requests for services (hence restricting the entitlement programs), illegals can request minimum wage (ag will take a hit), initial cost to dump those who are illegal or criminals out.


Solve the problem, not waste money.

Ok, here's the deal. You end entitlement spending for immigrants. I'll end the wars. If you beat me to it, I'll admit the Army doesn't have to guard the borders.

Part of the point of the wall is to reduce resources needed to secure the border. It shouldn’t need to be “manned” if it is built right, dumby.

you still need people at the bottleneck points and even manning it SHOULD anyone get over or under. It does not mean it still will not be a great deterrent. the wall helps the men along it.

The Founders felt it was ideologically-important to guarantee that even the terminally-stupid would have the right to express their political opinions.

This is an interesting idea. I would like to combine that by sending 18-20 year olds there for 2 years of military training. Give them $10,000 per year of service towards college tuition. They would get $20k for 2 years service.
They would already be trained in the event our country needed them.
