Some Mexicans trying to cross the border will get killed if we bring the army in.
Honestly that doesn't bother me in the least. But it will cause huge public relations problems.

Securing the existing ones is something I don't hear many, if any, arguing though. I remember my time there thinking about the ocean fences and how much of a joke it looked like.

You completely miss the point of why we have Soldiers at Ft. Polk, Ft. Leavenworth and Ft. Riley.
You need a lot of wide-open and in many cases desolate area to do proper maneuver training. In the case of Leavenworth, it's a very small post that's basically a medium-sized college.
