Jesus and the Bible both have quite a lot to say about the rich and powerful, especially those who used that wealth and power to serve themselves and evil. Maybe yours is different.

You are so full of shite, everything you are posting about him is a lie. Do you really hate it that bad that he is telling the truth in a song.

Link?

I remember a lot of progs saying the same thing about Donald Trump. He's super rich, he hasn't lived your life.

I'm not a prog, I don't need a carbon copy of myself in the mainstream representing me. The dude could be a billionaire black midget in a wheelchair. IDGAF.

Big ranch or not, he's giving a voice to the voiceless.

People shouldn't be focusing on political systems, they should be focusing on their relationship with God.

Yet the Apostle Paul says Christians are compelled to expose evil wherever it exists. And that includes evil political systems.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:10-12.

The inclusion of earthly “rulers” and “authorities” with “cosmic powers” of “darkness” and “spiritual forces of evil” denotes that evil often manifests itself in political systems. I hope that this is so manifestly obvious that it should need no further explication.

If you want to argue whether this song has artistic merit, well and fine.

Yet so freaking what if he is not a coal-miner or even a blue collar worker?

Johnny Cash never served a sentence in Folsom Prison or “shot a man in Reno just to watch him die.”

Cash indeed wrote the song while serving in the Air Force while stationed in West Germany.

Adopting such personas is a common theme of many artistic expressions in song.

I can’t imagine how sick and demented some of you must be. The man currently in the White House is almost certain to have taken millions in bribes from several foreign companies and governments, not to mention showers with his own young daughter. I could go on for an hour, but you are probably too sick in the head to comprehend the breadth and depth of the corruption and evil among most in Washington, that is more or less common knowledge.

Lots of genocide and slavery occurring back then, did Paul name anyone specifically Christians needed to grab a sword and go fight?

Resisting evil leaders to me, reads as those attempting to squash/prevent the spread of Christianity.

I don't think these cosmic dark forces care what the tax rate is of your country, I'd imagine they care about whether or not you're saved.

Do you think they would care if you put your government above your God, since it is your government that provides everything you need to live? After taking it from someone else first, of course.

I'm not sure favoring a big government is necessarily contrary to a Christian worldview as, again, I don't think Christianity concerns itself with political systems.

Is your stance that if you back a large government, you cannot be a true Christian? Or, it'd make it extremely hard for you to be a Christian?

Trendy outrage bait like say, “Eve of Destruction” by Barry McGuire was in 1965? At least Anthony presumably wrote his. McGuire never had another hit. We’ll have to wait and see about Anthony.

Not necessarily, but certainly if you want government in control of your life instead of God. In my opinion that is absolutely the case for a large percentage of people.

Do y’all think Team Trump or Team Desantis approaches him first?

What if you think the government is simply putting your god's will in law form?

Imagine Muslims living in Islamic theocracies.

El Gaucho has officially jumped the shark. His schtick is used up. The tank is dry. He isn’t the least bit clever or amusing anymore. Instead he is just repetitive and boring. Instead of being somewhat entertaining he has become an annoying child throwing a tantrum. He really needs some new material and a new angle.

You can't imagine anything in the Bible being wrong period, so I'm not surprised that was an impossible pill for you to swallow.
