Senators...and Trump...are chosen Representatives of those who elect them. When a Professor disses an elected Representative, they diss those who elected that Rep.
That Professor is on the road to getting "fingers in His salad"...or worse. Lest they decide that open and honest debate is the more palatable alternative to the MMA version of political discourse. Just a choice; nothing new under the historical sun.

My sister is a grade school treacher. Her first few years of teaching she would speak to me condescendingly like I was a child. I’d point it out to her and tell her I wasn’t one of her 6 year olds. Professors are the same, but because they talk down to young adults they have a more difficult time comprehending that they aren’t really the boss.
