I know a guy who basically did the 70's equivalent of tech work for the government back then. He said things got so bad with Carter that they cleared out some space in the capitol and basically set up an alternative White House with Tip O'Neil and some other influential legislators running the executive branch. The guy I know worked on the project with a bunch of other workers setting up the red phones, teletypes, etc. and whenever he went to service things it was White House security protocols. Carter was basically a bumbling figurehead by the end of his only term.

This. Do you remember how pissed off people were when Ford pardoned Nixon? Also you still had the blowback from anti- Vietnam feelings back then. I remember that well. Saigon had fallen and Vietnam was still in the news. That also played a factor.

Biden is much worse. Carter was actually a nice guy. He was in over his head. Biden is just a dumb arse hand puppet.

-People camping out for 10% interest rates

-Botched hostage rescue was a complete embarrassment

-Military was in shambles

-Lines for gas, and not just for a week.

We’re a little off from what we had with Carter but Biden’s economic policies could lay the groundwork.

Carter had to deal with an oil embargo which was a big hit to the price and availability of gas. There were gas lines down the street.
Inflation was relatively bad too. Inflation was around 6%. 30 year mortgage rates were around 8%!
you could own a cd and get 6%.

Thing is, we’re coming off a pandemic now and there is an economic rebound but there is also this absorption of the numerous bailouts and that’s going to be felt for a while.

I remember Carter was bad but most of my memories of that time were the Iran hostages.

Carter:
Gas prices at all time highs
Lost all international respect - Iran Hostage crisis
Inflation was really bad.
The Misery Index
Consumer Confidence at horrible lows.
NO Jobs
Car loans were 15-22% interest
Credit card interest was 20%

Just to name a few...

This, Carter was not fueled by hatred for the nation like Biden’s handlers are, and that’s what’s scary.

Just like someone already mentioned: Biden is just getting started. Think about how early it is in the term and the things that we have already witnessed. The scary thought is: We ain't seen nothing yet.

This bunch is out to finish what Obama started and that is totally destroy traditional America.

Jimmy Carter is probably less cognitively impaired today than Joe Biden.

Carter was a naive fool; he trusted foreigners who always turned out to be brutal dictators.

You nailed it. Jimmah was just naive and in over his head. Smart guy in physics but not economics.

Biden isn't smart in anything and is a crook and liar and plagiarist.

Carter was not a bad man, just in way over his head.

Ol’ Joe, to the extent he’s aware on a day to day basis, is all in on serving as the public face while the string pullers aggressively work toward full implementation of Barry’s avowed “fundamental transformation” of the country.

I was a teen, but I distinctly remember the “buy it now” mentality because whatever it was it would cost more next week.

I was very very young, in elementary school. I remember Iran taking the US Embassy staff hostage and I worried that my dad was going to be recalled back to the Air Force.

I remember thinking Carter seemed like a good Man. He meant well but was never getting things right. I still think Carter is a good man- no, I think Carter is probably a Great Man.

Biden in my honest estimation is a thug who has bullied his way to where he is and even at his absolute best, he can't handle what is coming.

We are in a bad way.

Carter was quietly, gently incompetent. Biden can be very abrasive and insulting (why he gets a pass from the same folks who blast Trump for similar traits is beyond me).

However, what they share is a pretty significant degree of incompetence. Biden is woefully corrupt and that really isn't Jimmuh's reputation.

correct!…Jimmy tried to pray his way out of crisis instead of legislate. Biden is destroying the checks in place that prevented them.

Got a speeding ticket for going over 55 mph on Interstate.
We were running out of gasoline and driving faster than 55 was wasful.
However, those were the days when we should have been preparing for another "Ice Age", according to the Science.
