Oil, Gas, and Mineral Exploration to Begin in Greenland

Well would ya look at that. Some of us tried to tell folks that the Greenland deal was about far more than just a military presence there. Maybe someday folks will start to listen.
Oh, and by the way, on this subject, Taiwan has also agreed to purchase 30% of the natural gas coming out of Alaska for the next 20 years. Trump is crushing it on these energy deals.

“Any future attack on the United States will have to come across Greenland, where our Defense will routinely knock down drones, missiles, or any other form of weapon not yet even conceived.”
“It gives us time, location, and sightline, like nowhere else in the World! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP”
This is why we needed Greenland
Trump signed the deal with Greenland and Denmark to make it official at the UNGA

Doesnt matter. This whole escapade has proven that the united states is not the most powerful country in the world. We are owned by the Europeans. We fricking let the Danish push us around. frick the Danish and their king.

I'll add this to the list of DOGE checks, tariff refunds and $5000 checks. All things that will never happen.

This is such a stupid take.
He literally got everything he wanted out of it.

Which of his sons runs the company that's getting the contract?

I mean, I’m all for letting it play out. However it’s not like there have not been oil and gas ventures in Greenland previously that were commercially unviable. Or that Greenland issued a moratorium on new oil and gas leases, and I am pretty sure Greenland has autonomy here.
But maybe this time it really is different because Trumps says so.

You're one of the ones that said this wouldn't happen, aren't you?
And now that it's announced that it is indeed happening, instead of just admitting you were wrong, you're going to pivot to this bullshite.
So pathetic.

What's pathetic is still being a Qtard. I'm betting some people cut you out of their life a while back and it's all you've got left. Sad.

Aww. Cute deflection.

Not a denial I note
It's got nothing to do with the topic. Why would you feel the need to make things personal simply because it's pointed out that you were wrong about this when you said we wouldn't get oil, gas, and mineral rights out of this Greenland deal? You were apparently wrong. It happens. Don't be frickin weird about it.

Well it was either this or attacking Denmark and then invading Greenland. But Trump is a person of peace.

Was wondering and then went to AI:
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimates that the waters and basins around Greenland could hold between 31 billion and 50 billion barrels of oil equivalent in undiscovered, technically recoverable resources.
That's a bunch of oil.

If this is anything like the "Energy Ceasefire" he might want to check with everyone else to see if this is indeed happening or is this just something he made up in his head and is now regurgitating it because he can't help himself.

Trump makes things up stone cold sober.....it's his superpower.

Both Taiwan and South Korea have had to come out and clarify that there are no deals in place, but there are discussions and it's certainly possible that a deal could come to fruition in the future.
The Taiwan one looks pretty close, although it's contingent on some deadlines
The SK one seems like more of a long shot

Considering Greenland has already contradicted most everything Trump said, this looks more like another move to goose the markets than anything else.
In that regard, it worked.

What they've said is that exploration projects are in the early stages and could take take years to bear fruit. Nobody is saying there isn't work that needs to be done and that we begin drilling tomorrow, but it is indeed happening. This coming from Greenland’s Deputy Mining Minister, Jørgen Hammeken-Holm.
Seems to me this is good news. I'll never understand why so many people react so negatively to news that is positive for our country (not saying you are specifically here, but just in general).
