Another "earthquake" in Iran. This time in the Kerman Province.

What are we making of the fact that Iran seems to be letting China’s ships through the Strait? Does this weaken Trump’s leverage with Xi?

Unless those ships are coming to or from Iran, then what's the problem?

China is looking to start surging oil imports from *ALASKA*...

Are they going to invest to double the size of Valdez? Because it's capacity is probably a 1/4 of what China was getting daily through the strait

This might be a great long term investment, but not a short term fix to offset the current issues

I visited Valdez a couple times 6-8 years ago. It was operating at 30-40 % capacity and that actually did cause problems with the Alaskan Oil pipeline minimum flows. Democrates choked the flow during Obama/Biden regimes. They got a lotta unused capacity.

TRUMP: "Xi would like to see a deal. He offered — he said, 'If I can be of ANY help at all, I would like to be of help.'"

"Yeah, he did say that. And look, anybody that buys that much oil has obviously got some kind of a relationship with them."

"But he said, 'I would love to be help. If I could be of any help whatsoever,' he'd like to see the Hormuz Strait open. He said, if I could be of any help whatsoever, I would like to help."

Let's see if they step it up, then!

NEW: President Trump reveals to @seanhannity that Chinese President Xi Jinping has committed to withholding military equipment from Iran following their high-level discussions.

Trump noted that while China continues to purchase Iranian oil, Xi expressed a strong desire to see the Strait of Hormuz remain open and free of interference.

"He said he’s not going to give military equipment, that’s a big statement... But at the same time, he said you know they buy a lot of their oil there and they’d like to keep doing that. He’d like to see Hormuz straight opened."

The full interview airs tonight at 9pm ET.

I trust the Chinese helping out with the Iran thing as much as I trust the Pakistani's. China volunteering to help reach a deal with Iran will guarantee an extension of this shite out for another 2 months while people "talk".

Meanwhile, China will do everything it can in the background to send arms, equipment and money to Iran on the black market. The Iranian people will continue to suffer under a brutal regime and the Mullahs and the IRGC will get to secure their positions of power.

Do I trust China? No

Do I believe that they will help us in a significant way? I have my doubts.

Do I believe though that they are growing more and more frustrated with Iran? Absolutely.

China is a stronger country when the Strait is open. My sense of pragmatism makes me believe that something positive can come from this meeting.

I could be wrong but I believe China views the US as a major market (if not their largest market...) for their goods and as such is not (at the moment...) willing to rock that boat too much...

Gov Palin's ACES legislation to stick it to "big oil", with extra taxes, made drilling too expensive on the North Slope. Her Lt. Gov reversed that when he became governor and why she helped campaign for the Dems to get him out of office.
