Why is there so much animosity on this thread the last couple days? Lack of action pitting everyone against each other?
Lack of patience in people. I would hate to try to have a nice, quiet hunting or fishing trip with some of these folks.
I believe things are in the works, I believe the job is going to get done and I know that it will take longer than anyone wants it to...in todays 60 second attention span world...but not years.
The bickering, bitching and moaning, by folks who know little to nothing, is to be ignored.

Unless they had other access points to get into the tunnels and other areas hidden inside mountains.
It would make sense to have one or two primary entry points, and knowing they’ll get hit have secondary access points they normally don’t use.
It would also make sense to expect them to have alternate access points. My expectations are that we'd destroy all known access points from on ground intelligence and from Space Force constant surveillance of all of Iran. In the event anything was missed, a few weeks of observation would reveal the locations.
Ain't nothing going on in Iran countryside that Space Force doesn't know about.

Well months or years…. is why people call it a quagmire
A quagmire would be if we had boots on the ground and they were making no progress (like Russia in Ukraine).
If we maintain the blockade and control the strait for several years, that is not a quagmire.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Lindsey Graham said this yesterday during a committee meeting where Hegseth and General Caine were testifying:
quote:
During a meeting of the Senate Appropriations Committee’s defense subcommittee regarding the Pentagon’s $1.5 trillion dollar budget request, Graham became visibly frustrated when speaking about a CBS News report from the day before that Pakistan had quietly allowed Iranian aircraft to park at its military bases, potentially to shield them from U.S. airstrikes.
Graham pressed the Joint Chiefs of Staff chair, General Dan Caine, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on whether they believed that was consistent with Pakistan’s role as a mediator between the U.S. and Iran. Both military leaders refused to weigh in.
“I don’t want to get in the middle of these negotiations—” Hegseth said, and Graham exploded.
“Well, I do! I want to get in the middle of these negotiations!” he said.
“I don’t trust Pakistan as far as I can throw ’em! If they actually do have Iranian aircraft parked in Pakistan bases to protect Iranian military assets, that tells me we should be looking maybe for somebody else to mediate. No wonder this damn thing is going nowhere!”
He mad.

One of my stepsons serves on a guided missile destroyer that is now "forward deployed" somewhere in the Indian Ocean. They have a public Facebook group, and yesterday their Mass Communication Specialist posted several pictures of their recent activities. Here is one. The caption is "Boat operations in the Indo-Pacific".

Kind of leaning toward that as well. Truth is, none of us know what Pete and POTUS are cooking up. My only concern is we are an instant gratification country and the longer this draws on, the less support Trump will find.
Bayou needs to get off his arse and start sharing X posts to break up the monotony

With respect to adding 500B to a military budget that is already greater than the COMBINED amount being spent by Russia, China, Germany, UK, India, Saudi Arabia, France, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Israel, Ukraine, Poland - I’m fine with kicking Iran back into the Stone Age if they keep threatening the rest of the world, but if we’re going to do that, we need to pay for it somehow and stop just printing it.
By just printing it, Iran is doing the winning.

Agree. I would add that this could all be over if we wanted to accept higher casualty rates. But we have chosen wisely to extend the war a bit to protect us and our allies.
During the cease fire this happened.
- Iran stopped firing so many missiles.
- The cease fire gave us time to bolster air defenses around the region.
- Gave time for decent to grow in the IRGC. (who is talking to us?)
- Gave us time to prove that Europe sucks arse.
- Gave time to identify more targets.
- Gave us for the IRGC to run so low on money that they can't pay their fighters anymore.
- Gave us time to have a counter to what the Kurds didn't do.
- Gave Israel an opportunity to deal with Hezbollah in Lebanon (one front instead of two).
- Time to repair our damaged aircraft carrier.

We apparently have an earthquake machine and it timing isn't easily controlled.
