Only one more day?
Hard to keep up with all the changing timelines.

I don't know about the outcome of the talks. My initial reaction was that the ceasefire was bad, but that first instinct ended up being wrong.
The ceasefire ended up being a good idea, as we have been able to open the Strait while the talks have been happening. Iran didn't dare sabotage the talks by firing on our ships, and they won't fire on merchant ships and oil tankers during the talks, either. All of Iran's talk about charging tolls to pass through? They suddenly look silly.
Tomorrow, a lot of ships are going to pass through the Strait. That's a good thing.

I do not think a deal is possible just yet and not likely does admin.
Using this time to reload, rest and repair as well as gather more intel.
And maybe, because I do not truly know, reset the 60 day conflict clock?

I f things look optimistic about the talks and we get a good increase in oil tanker traffic tomorrow through the straits we may see a steep down move on crude prices.
WTIC ended about at 96 Friday so we could see a move down to the 70`s.

Forty days of panic by everyone in the shipping industry and the vast majority of media and academic military “experts”, and for what?
The experts said the Navy was scared to enter Hormuz. They called prudence weakness and restraint failure. They reiterated and published freak outs from social media. They were wrong.
Two U.S. destroyers just made four transits through the Strait. So much for the hysteria and all the hand-wringing about American decline.
And the stories I’m hearing from the sailors at sea is one filled with real heroism.
Yes, the US Navy has real problems.
Yes, our Merchant Marine does too.
Yes, Congress can’t even pass the SHIPs act.
Yes, mistakes were made.
Yes the process of clearing the mines will take time.
Yes we are still a long way from normality.
But our overwhelming advantage over every other Navy on Earth is the BIG story. Here.
No other Navy could have accomplished this with so few casualties. None.
To the over the top media and hyperbolic Europeans and all the doomers: shame on you.
And to Beijing: recalculate.
Bravo Zulu to Admiral Cooper and the joint force and every American serviceman in the Middle East.
We have a long way to go but this ship is making way in the right direction.

Yes this is the start of mine-clearing
BUT
It was also a freedom of navigation test.
These ships are offensive & defensive missile platforms
They would protect any follow on vessels which would perform the actual mine-clearing
AND
This was designed to see if Iran would hold their fire per the ceasefire agreement.
The WSJ report the following radio traffic recorded by a nearby civilian vessel:
“This is the last warning. This is the last warning,” the Iranian forces radioed to one of the destroyers.
“Passage in accordance with international law. No challenge is intended to you, and I intend to abide by rules of our government’s cease-fire,” the U.S. ship responded.
There is no reason for the US to wait any longer to get traffic flowing through the Strait. It can either be per an agreement in Islamabad or through force.
Iran has exercised power well beyond what their meager resources of kamikaze speedboats deserve. Time to let the oil flow.

Believe JD and all should have departed given the seeming irreconcilable differences, if true as reported.
