Are we seriously still debating this? Of course it's about China, and Russia, and the US, and energy. It's incredibly disappointing how many people are susceptible to brainwashing. I hate to think it, but maybe suspension of natural selection for even two or three generations results in immediate idiocracy.

Are you still buying Regime propaganda? Iran is right now a battered country with no clear leadership and a drastically weakened military and industrial capacity. The swagger you hear is bluster and if the Iranian people are willing to finish the job, the regime will fall. If not, they won't regain their former level of power for many years, if ever.

After having had some time to digest this, I can stomach everything except us consenting to Iran charging tolls to exit the Strait. That is outright humiliating to a great nation like the United States to accept that. The Marine Corps was created because we refused to pay tribute/tolls to the Barbary Pirates.
I'm going to assume that Trump won't agree to tolls after the two weeks is up, but, if he does, he will have led us to an unambiguous defeat.

Two weeks to collect money and we can watch where they send it
IMO the biggest reason for this ceasefire on our end is to watch what they do when they’re not dodging air strikes. Valuable intel for when the ceasefire inevitably ends.
