Trump’s confrontation with Iran isn’t about Tehran, it’s a message to the City of London, Beijing, Brussels, and the world. By controlling Gulf oil routes and dollar flows, Washington is reasserting dominance over the global energy order. The new Great Game has begun, and America is showing it still sets the rules.
If thats the outcome of the Iranian war and its achieved without ground invasion or significant casualties it will have been a major success regardless of how its portrayed relative to the stated objectives that are publicly discussed.

Any iranians working for these companies?

All Middle East US bases destroyed, forced out of Middle East, petrodollar in jeopardy.
There was no win win in this war. Only for Israel and their Greater Israel project.
Also Israel is taking and invading Yemen. They are trying to claim as much land as possible. Genocide is being done, just like to the people of Gaza.

Ukraine does a great job hitting Russian subs tied up to the dock

IS bases in the Middle East are mostly trailers and warehouses on airfields.
They did hit an old communications/ radar facility in Bahrain. Most of irans hits have been symbolic as opposed to destroying things. They obviously hit an occupied trailer in Kuwait and have hit a few aircraft on the ground with drones which is luck and unavoidable.

Trump on Iran nuclear capabilities: “I don’t even think about it. I just know that, you know, that’s so deeply buried it’s gonna be very hard for anybody. And we – we’ve watched it for – you know, since the attack, we’ve watched it. And at least I think finally people admit it was obliteration. It’s down there deep. And they haven’t been able to do it. You know, even without a war they haven’t been able to do it. So it’s pretty – it’s pretty – it’s pretty safe. But, you know, we’ll make a determination."
Is Trump saying the nuclear material we are worried about is buried under a mountain of rubble?
That is my impression.

I defend Trump a lot but this war is definitely showing him in a bad light.
I think he's thought this would be like a business deal, lots of pressure and Iran would buckle immediately, but ideological fantasists don't just buckle. It is their sole purpose and when you rule with an iron fist you can't blink so they won't. This hissy fits over NATO assistance is a bad look too. NATO is a defence pact, the US struck first and NATO countries have been burned after blindly following into Iraq.
I don't recall the states putting boots on the ground when Argentina invaded British land.
However he is right, the UK should get their own oil, by drilling the North Sea more

I am trying to stay professional in language. This is not a serious proposal. It does not address a single issue of Iran's threats to the U.S., Israel, entire region - missiles, nuclear, navy, behaviors of proxy terror armies/against international shipping in the strait of hormuz (outside of saying let commercial shipping go through). China (the source of Islamic Regime weapons development, sanctions evasion, 90% sanctioned oil sales), Russia (Iran's arms dealer to attack civilians daily in Ukraine, providing intelligence to attack U.S./Israel/Ally sites), and Pakistan (state backer of terrorism, sancturary provider for terrorists) all should have no invlovment. Sure if the terrorist in Tehran want to pass messages thru Islamabad...fine... but this is not serious, counterproductive IMO.
quote:
Pakistan, acting as mediator, publishes with China an initiative to end the war in Iran:
1. Immediate ceasefire
2. Start of negotiation talks
3. Cessation of attacks on non-military targets
4. Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz
5. Establishment of a peace agreement based on the principles of the UN Charter

Poland border Russia and Belarus. Poland needs its Patriot batteries which is why they bought them in the first place. So Poland's refusal makes sense. The UK's refusal to send ships makes sense because they do not have the ships to spare. That does not mean I think they are right, support their decision, or anything like that. I am just saying their refusals make sense.
Spain, France, and Italy's refusals do not make sense. Denying your airspace to US aircraft is not going to make a difference. The US planes are still going to go bomb Iran or deliver their cargo to the Middle East. Denying US planes access to air space is just a dick move.
Good assessment.

Stock market jumped on unconfirmed reports that Iranian President Pezeshkian is "open to ending the war". Is anyone else seeing this report anywhere?

The United Arab Emirates has imposed a ban on the entry and transit of Iranian nationals through Dubai, according to a notice by FlyDubai.
The directive, which takes immediate effect, says that Iranian passport holders are not permitted to enter or transit via Dubai International Airport. The restriction applies broadly to all Iranian citizens, including those holding valid UAE residency visas across all categories as well as holders of UAE visit and tourist visas.
The notice also says Iranian nationals currently outside the UAE, including residents, will be denied entry into the country, with the measure reflected in official application responses.
