This might be true, but maybe not. Let’s assume there was zero insider trading. With Trump set to make an announcement being public knowledge, wouldn’t the betting community jump in and lay bets?
I have been a critic of the Trump family’s sleazy deals. You can find my posts criticizing the Qatar plane donation and the Kushner-Saudi private equity deals. But this issue is being overblown. If there was no insider trading there would still be a lot of bets leading up to an announcement like that, just as there are a lot of bets on the Super bowl coin toss.
Probably there was some insider trading, as there is always going to be, but it doesn’t sound like much.

In order to commit treason under US law you have to give aid or comfort to an enemy. I do not know if sabotaging peace talks that results in more discomfort for the enemy qualifies. Can we get an opinion from an attorney (not SFP)?

It would really make Putin look bad if Trump overthrew a hostile regimen on the other side of the planet from the USA in less than a month and Russia can't overthrow a hostile regimen in a neighboring country in 4+ years into a 3 day special military operation.
