If they are left in power this will be the biggest foreign policy disaster since Obama gave them cash.
I nominate Biden flying in illegals in from around the world. That was like bombing ourselves.

So much chatter / media leaks about a few weeks left before it’s time for Iranians to rise up - I’d be surprised if some sort of ground uprising didnt start soon. No way it waits. Some cities and regions will start early to create some domino effect.
Unfortunately, unless a large amount of arms have been delivered to the uprising, it will be unarmed protestors against armed jihadi thugs.
Drones delivering arms and FPV attack drones would expose the regime's military and police's underbelly to lethal and precise attacks from hidden positions. That is one way to provide ground attacks that could break the IRGC and other repressive forces remaining.
Many gamers would be instant FPV drone experts.

Britain welcomes productive talks between US President Donald Trump and Iran, a spokesperson for Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday, adding that the country continued to seek de-escalation in the Middle East.
“Any reports of productive talks are welcome,” the spokesperson said about Trump’s earlier announcement that he would pause planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, following what he described as “very good and productive conversations” with Tehran.
The spokesperson added that a swift end to the war was in the global interest and said the Strait of Hormuz needed to be reopened.

Taco reversal in play. Trump talking negotiations with rebels , Irgc denying talks occurring .
An interesting fallout, might be getting the irgc to communicate excitedly giving away their positions for the old double tap. There does seem to be a lot of Israeli hits on Iran last night.
telling the rebels to stay home is looking like a stimulus for more rebel attacks. Seem to be getting more active

I mean trump has 2 options it appears to me.
1. Put boots on the ground, will it work? Who knows? Is it worth it? Who knows? I think this option is just too unknown, too risky.
2. Pull out and claim all your objectives are met and pray to God that Iran stops shooting missiles once we leave, if they don't, they can say they won, and they still remain a powerful party in ME
He's laying the groundwork for both of these options. Now for the first time, he's working towards being able to claim regime change was an objective (some might say) and in fact some might say we achieved that....
The fundamental thing we will be talking about a year from now is if it was worth it if Iran went from being able to fire 100 missiles a day to a handful, but we were not able to stop it. As soon as Iran puts up some buildings, China will put whatever they need in them to produce missiles again.

All the posturing and press conferences and memes can point to winners and losers.
But at this point if we don’t have a functionally different government in Iran it will be a failure. Not a complete failure as we would have set them back, but we’ll have just punted the problem for a future year give them more time to try a s figure ways of hitting us and deterring.

Agreed, it’s why I believe we are still a ways away from real de-escalation.

Baws Trump said that he was postponing strikes on their energy infrastructure. He did not say that he was posting strikes on Iran. We're still going to be killing IRGC while the negotations happen.

Yep it is going to be a bloodbath unfortunately. Just having a hard time seeing how this won't be.
