It’s true. Iran’s territory is 4x the size of Iraq and the land next to the Hormuz is very mountainous with endless caves to store weapons that can attack tankers (prepared ahead of time over decades as a deterrent because this was always Iran’s end game if someone was stupid enough to attack). It would require troops on the ground to control this and even then it’ll be a long war.
You guys are a bunch of pussies for not believing this.
Do us all a favor and tell your pastor to tell you to walk off a cliff.

"Hi, I'm in southeastern Tehran,
Explosion sound[s] are strongly coming from a far distance, in a way that they shake the ground, they're way different than the blasts from the past days, and it's uninterrupted, there's no air defense sound, I think it's bunker buster, the sound is very weird.
We heard over 40 explosion but the source is not known"

PRESIDENT TRUMP: “Well, they've been doing a lot of talking, so he's going to have to put up. We'll have to see because we are decimating them.”
“We've knocked out most of their missiles. We've knocked out many of their drones. We knocked out a lot of the manufacturing areas where they manufacture the missiles and now the drones."

The US is in absolutely no seat to dictate terms at this point. They are literally calling the Russians to try to broker a deal with Iran because they are going to crash the entire world economy, but most importantly, the US economy, and have almost nothing else to lose. They are in total control of the negotiations at this point, because they can't lose right now.
Preach.

There's no way Trump pulls back and out at this point. It'll be too big a loss

Things you missed by not being in Tehran lately.
That moment of panic when the city goes quiet and there are no jets for a while, because silence does not feel like peace anymore, it feels like the storm pausing before the wrong ending. We are not scared of noise alone. We are scared of this war ending before the terrorist Islamic Regime occupying Iran is weakened enough for us to take our country back.
Jumping at the sound of a door, the elevator, even the upstairs flush. Ducking inside your own home when something flies overhead. Sleeping like a sentry. Showering in three minutes. Taking your phone to the bathroom because disconnection feels dangerous. Even feeling strange ordering online because some delivery guy has to cross this nightmare for you.
That is what this regime has done to ordinary life. It has wired fear into our nerves so deeply that even quiet feels suspicious, because quiet without victory would mean waking up tomorrow and finding the occupation still standing.

I’m just so disappointed. The US did everything in its power to eliminate that many targets and bastards of leadership. And yet, the Iranian people still couldn’t take control.
The American founding fathers would be very sad.

I kinda disagree with this guy’s tweet. I agree Iran hasn’t caused much physical damage certainly not relatively speaking. Whether they are giving it there all is not really important. I’m sure they are trying to conserve for the longest possible run. They don’t really need to cause mass damage or have a constant barrage going. All they have to do is keep trying. That’s enough to keep the Strait closed. It’s aggravating but hopefully there’s a plan we’re moving toward.

True, they’re saving their supply which is held up in the mountains in caves within 20 miles outside of the straight of Hormuz to bomb vessels coming in and out. The shipping lane in that strait is only 2 miles wide, so sitting ducks.
These guys didn’t need nukes as a deterrent. It would take boots on the ground.
Edit: then again most on here don’t have 401ks.

quote:Exactly. Misapplication of this in Iraq led to the deBathification that unnecessarily destabilized, drove military and all sorts of government workers into the resistance, and fueled sectarian violence. Had we applied the lessons of WW2 and allowed more widespread rehabilitation of those willing to disavow the regime it might have worked out better. Get rid of the truly fanatical and coopt the masses that went along to get along. Sadly, it may not be just but it's more effective.
If we're being honest de-nazification in West Germany was just decapitating the high brass and letting the rank and file take over the country.

Huge explosions are being reported south of Tehran. Something major happening.
Multiple reports from south of Tehran describe massive explosions near Rey–Hasanabad.
Witnesses say explosions continued for over 30 minutes and felt like underground missile detonations.
People in Naziabad report the ground shaking with delays of up to two minutes between blast and sound.
Could this be one of the IRGC’s underground missile cities being hit?

It’s hasn’t even been two weeks and this microwave generation is acting like something conclusive should’ve happened by now.
This is a multi week to short months campaign at a minimum.
The goal is to break their will and create conditions for the regime to fall. It’s going to take some time.

I suspect that sets of protestors have been organized for a while with Israel and our help and that they are being armed with suicide drones among other things. All the noise and fury could certainly cover the sound of drones delivering arms, communications and suicide drones.
Any good gamer can pilot a drone and they have direct knowledge of their neighborhood and city. That's the best intelligence one could ask for. That would be deadly to IRGC check points, groups and hideouts. The operators wouldn't be exposed.

But I thought this was a short war? According to Trump, no, or more arranging the goal posts?

They died by the tens of thousands without US/Israel intervention. Trump told them to stay indoors for now to avoid collateral damage.
Stop posting nonsense.
