What happens to all these ships when they are "disabled"? I know we and they have been disabling various ships for months now, but I never hear where they end up.

I assume they get towed back to their port of origin if possible. I think I saw something a couple of weeks back that the first ship we disabled just got back into port after being towed there for repairs.

Why this POS is still breathing is a mystery. You know we and Israel know where he is at all times yet we keep allowing him to go back and forth between Iraq and Iran.

The Iranian relationship with their extra-territorial militias is not leader dependent.

that’s hilarious. They’re worse than a toddler throwing a fit. This gives a lot of insight to where the IRGC really are.

We will see if this is part of a wider pattern or more of a one time thing.

Many Iranians are not too pleased with the Basij.

They are the ones that most Iranian citizens are affected by on a day-to-day basis. They're in the towns and communities enforcing the will of the regime.

If a revolution does build, those dudes are gonna be the biggest targets.

Eh, we have somewhat control over it. Not sure you can call it complete control though.

Rumours are circulating that petrol prices in Iran may jump from 3,000 to 87,200 tomans per litre, roughly 29 times the current price.
If implemented, this could trigger severe public backlash and renewed unrest. In 2019, a threefold increase sparked major protests.

Petrol is heavily subsidized in Iran and currently sold well below global market prices.
