1986, I had a discussion with a water treatment salesman who had been in Iran the week before. He observed that many of the young men in the airports were carrying rugs and asked why. Response was they were on their way to fight in the war and the rug was used to wrap the body for the trip home. Them guys is brutal

The Panama-flagged cargo vessel, M/V VELA NOVA, was targeted early Tuesday by a missile fired from a U.S. military helicopter enforcing the ongoing naval blockade against Iran, after the ship allegedly attempted to run the American blockade, a U.S. official told The Wall Street Journal.
According to the official, following several warnings the helicopter fired a single missile which struck the ship’s rudder chain causing a small fire, with initial reports suggesting no casualties to the crew onboard the VELA NOVA.
Vanguard, a maritime security firm, reported that the incident occurred as the Panama-flagged vessel was transiting westbound through the Gulf of Oman towards Iran, about 71NM from the coast of Pakistan.
