BREAKING: Donald Trump has quietly admitted defeat and privately signalling he's willing to end the Iran war without a nuclear deal if the Strait of Hormuz simply opens, a humiliating retreat from his demand for "unconditional surrender," per WSJ.
Trump privately told aides he would declare victory based on reopening the Strait — a far cry from his promises to "decimate" Iran's nuclear program. But Iran just raised the price of that exit: $300 billion** in compensation, **$100–123 billion in frozen assets, U.S. troop withdrawal, and an end to the naval blockade.
Trump wanted out. Iran is making him pay for it. U.S. officials say Trump sees the Strait as his only viable exit. But Iran's new demands mean even that is now in doubt. Tehran knows Washington is desperate to leave — and is holding the waterway hostage until Trump surrenders on every point.
I guess this is still winning according to the MAGA cult, no?

Very, very far from it
47 years of Imperialistic Persia is long enough
This is worse than a defeat. The only way to even grab a slither of success is to withdraw our assets from the ME and Europe - focus our attention to our hemisphere and its security and re-direct monies to tackle this enormous debt

It would be the worst ME policy ever. That shite would be Carter 2.0
What in the world did Jimmy Carter do that compares to this complete flub?
Jimmy Carter struck a deal between Egypt and Israel that ended 3 decades of war between the two and fully pulled Egypt, the biggest Arabic country in the world, completely off the chessboard as a problematic nation.
Egyptian military aggression, Egyptian state sponsored terrorism, Egyptian threats to global commerce . . . non existent since Carter.
Carter’s camp David accord is still the gold standard of Middle East policy.

Instead of a large scale attack on deminishing Iran targets, just drop a couple bunker buster bombs on the nuclear storage sites in Iran and send the message "we are watching" for the next 30 years. Repeat every 6 months. For the strait of Hormus, send some of the US war ships home, let the status quo exist, and continue the financial blockade.

It’s pretty obvious Trump is beyond desperate to get out of this. He is going to accept any horrible deal Iran offers just to pack his shite and go home worse than we were before.

But did Jimmy Carter ever accept a billion dollar plane from a foreign government, then start a war in coordination with said government, then potentially quit said war?

I would choose that over letting someone capture our Amercan Embassy, and taking 66 American hostages, and doing nothing about it

Well if there was any question on if the regime was going to try to drag this out to midterms and beyond, here is the answer:

sounds like John Kerry is still advising the Iranian regime. telling them to just wait it out till midterms and then till 2028.....

Guess we will see how much weight that mutual defense pact has.
