Iran is either preparing to invade or to be invaded.
Iraqi's are reporting a massive explosion on the Iranian side of the Shalamcheh crossing, near the Abadan border.
Earlier, it was reported that the Iranian Regime was moving tanks and soldiers into this area.
Additionally, it has been reported that regime forces have also moved roughly 3,000 troops into northwestern Iran, near the Iraqi border.
A similar report of explosions was noted hours ago at an IRGC base in Baneh, Iran.

I think after yesterday's drone factory explosion, either the Mossad or the CIA is putting some work in on the ground.

I said yesterday that this is the new reality.
I hate it as much as anyone. The only other options are nuking Iran or deploying ground troops. Both of which we will never do.
The IRGC is now a permanent power in the Middle East that will enrich themselves with these transit fees.

The West has controlled the strait of Hormuz since the Portuguese set up a trading fort there in the 1400s. It’s not Trump’s fault that the West is in decline, but it is Trump’s fault that he started this idiotic conflict that is going to lead to a world-historical level humiliation.

At this point in time if I were Trump, I would put an intense bombing campaign on all the military supply depots and manufacturing (like the one bombed today), hit pick ax mountain very hard and declare Iran's nuclear ability to be near zero. I'd bomb some key bridges just for additional pain. Then pack up and leave and tell the world the USA will no longer be the Hormuz policeman. Let the countries that deal with Iran keep them from charging tariffs, not us.
Keep the money frozen and put any other financial restrictions on them that you can. Give Israel the green light for whatever they want with Hamas and Hezbolah. And I would tell them future nuclear sites would be bombed without warning.

The IR/IRGC is just going to keep stringing this along, breaking agreements and doing anything they can to drag this to November and it looks like we are going to fall for it.

Unfortunately, all of Europe and the ME lack the manpower, the military power and the willpower to deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran properly. None of them have or can lift a finger to help despite all the money we have poured into Europe the ME since the start of The Cold War.
Neither appropriately invested in their self defense and depended on us to protect them all. For almost 100 years we have done so & none of them can or are willing to help now that a problem brewing for almost half a century is trying to kick down their doors. Their only answers are to bribe the bullies and hope it buys them more time for us to solve their problems. Been like that for 81 years now.
Europe depends on the SOH more than we do and they have not sent one naval ship of theirs into the fray to protect their interests. UAE only struck Iran after we and Israel did the heavy lifting and neutered their air defenses.
As usual, we do all the hard work while they sit back and twiddle their thumbs.

That makes me think of that scene from Syriana where Damon tells the prince that the world thinks that 100 years ago they living in tents and chopping each other's heads off and that was where we thought they would probably be in another 100 years. Then he proceeds to tell them how to double their profit because they couldn't think of it themselves.

No chance Iran will oversee transit and not charge fees when they've made their desire to charge fees known from the beginnings of these negotiations. Long-term this will give Iran control of the strait and a stranglehold on middle east oil trade.

Pipelines are the answer. Two years from now this may not even be an issue. And will be less of an issue a year from now.

He did that last year, but the nuclear threat was the justification for the war this year. So, we can’t believe anything he says on the matter.
Whatever course of action he takes, he needs to shut up about it and do it.
