It was an honest mistake. The got it from their closest ally in this conflict, the barbaric terrorist lying murdering Islamic State of Iran. How were they to know?

I don't believe we will ever know all of the things that the USA and Iran agree to. I certainly don't believe anything Iran says plus politicians are known for lying.

Did you make those up or get them from some anonymous user on twitter? I think someone overstated the amount spent on war (next to Trump's picture) by a hundred fold or thereabouts, which sort of casts all the other bullet points in a bad light too.

How many did you suck today?

Feel like the content of that image is a bit off but I agree with the general spirit. I think Trump's Iranian policy is hard to support unwaveringly. Mainly because in the moment it is hard to argue we're in a better place in the Middle East now than before he took office for his first term.
Who knows, maybe there has been enough institutional decay in Iran that 1-2 years from a collapse of the theocratic regime. At that point, you may be able to argue it was all worth it. Especially if the new regime is more amenable to the US-led world order. However, I suspect that we'd just get a different hostile power because it is incredibly advantageous to China for Iran to not be in our orbit. So, they're going to be angling for a revolutionary element that they can co-opt just as hard as we are searching for a favorable revolutionary element within Iran.
