REPORTS FROM IRAN: Explosions have reportedly been heard in the southern Iranian cities of Bushehr and Asaluyeh, home to major energy and petrochemical facilities. Local reports indicate blasts near the Asaluyeh petrochemical complex, while additional explosions were reported in the Bushehr area.

These petrochemical plants aren't quite at power plant level of importance, but they are a big step above the things we've been hitting lately.

But during my teen and young adult years (1970s and 1980s), my memories of it getting the shite bombed out of it on a daily basis.

Yasser Arafat and company.

The people of Iran need free Internet to see which truly happening. We need them to have free Internet so they can post freely about what is going on in Iran. Musk… discount please?

Bombing them isn’t going to change their negotiating position.

Depends on what we bomb.

I think we need to bomb cultural sites and perhaps drop biological agents on IRGC bases

None of that effectively opens Hormuz. The countdown will continue.

Washington is demanding a 60 day downblend commitment to enter talks with Tehran on the nuclear file. This secures verifiable degradation within the 30-60 negotiation window for the final deal on the file. If no final deal is struck, Iran walks away with no sanctions relief, a diluted stockpile it cannot easily or quickly enrich since its enrichment capacity has been degraded, exposed intel on its program status, and the threat of renewed hostilities.

Put simply, Washington is demanding the Batna is painful for Tehran as a precondition for talks. Iran has not responded to the demand for two weeks, instead escalating against Gulf countries, firing at Israel and then downing a US Apache helo in the Gulf. The US response is aimed at reinforcing leverage and compelling Tehran to sign the MoU letting IAEA inspectors in to begin logging, recovering and diluting Iran’s enriched stockpile immediately.

Assuming this is accurate, and it likely is to some extent given the recent IAEA demands of Iran, I have what seems like a rather important question:

How would this plan be possible if what we have been told about Iran's uranium with it being buried to such an extent that only the US or China has the technology to get to it/unearth it and that process would take a while? This seems counter to our reported stance and plan as it has been presented over the past weeks.
