So is he saying here that we've been pulling tankers up to one of their ports and filling them with oil without their knowledge?

Kudos if true.

The SOH is filled with oil tankers and cargo ships that have nothing to do with Iran. Why would you assume he is talking about Iranian Oil when we are blockading them to prevent that?

Not directly from Iran. I think what he meant was we escorted tankers so they did not have to go through the Iranian toll system. Thus "taking oil from Ian"

For the last month, there have been several times where there is sudden AIS and GPS jamming and scrambling occurring in the SOH when it gets dark. It's been speculated that when that has been happening, the US Navy has been guiding tankers through a route that runs close to the shore of the UAE and gets them out into the gulf.

Iran doesn't have the technology to see through all the jamming and the statement by Trump confirms what many have thought for the last month.

A U.S. official tells me the crew from this helicopter was "picked up" by a surface drone from Task Force 59, a Navy unit that specializes in the use of drones at sea. It's a potential first for the U.S. military.

Development was reported earlier by CBS News.

quote:

More here: The drone used was a 24-foot Navy Corsair made by Saronic Technologies, said Navy Capt. Tim Hawkins, a Central Command spokesman.

The crew were picked up by the vessel, taken to a second location on the water, and then hoisted up into a helicopter.

The Corsair was first fielded in Centcom in March, shortly after the war with Iran began.

In your opinion, are Lebanese citizens who are Christian more pro-Israel or pro-Palestinian, keeping in mind that many Palestinians are Christian?

They are not pro-either of them. They want their country back from Hezbollah. Beirut was a garden spot before the Palestinians moved in and took over. The Lebanese government is too weak to displace Hezbollah, so most Lebanese hope Israel will provide the muscle to do it.

When Israel starts prosecuting the boots on the ground war against Hezbollah the Lebanese are very in favor of it. As things progress, and Israel invariably kills a few non-combatants, that good will fades. So most of the time the Lebanese (Christians and Muslims) are sympathetic to Israel as a co-sufferer from the same enemy that plagues the Lebanese, but at the same point in every cycle - the point when Israel is engaged in Lebanon - that sympathy fades away. But the Lebanese ALWAYS hate Hezbollah.

It looks to me like we reached the limits of airpower alone in attacking the Islamic Republic.

Yes, but we have not reached the limits of naval power, witness the blockade. We are strangling Iran.

I'm old enough to remember when Beirut was known as the "Paris of the Middle East", or something along those lines.

But during my teen and young adult years (1970s and 1980s), my memories of it getting the shite bombed out of it on a daily basis.

"Last month, I directed our Great U.S. Military to execute a secret mission to support Oil Tankers and other Commercial Ships through the Straight of Hormuz. Today, I am pleased to announce that this effort has resulted in more than 100 MILLION Barrels of Oil making its way through the Straight, and into the Open Market. More than 200 Commercial Ships have safely traveled through the Strait. This wildly successful effort is because the UNITED STATES of AMERICA CONTROLS the Strait of Hormuz — NOT Iran. Their military is defeated, and their economy is lost. It’s over for Iran! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

24NEWS: The U.S. is expected to carry out strikes against a broader range of Iranian targets in the coming hours, exceeding the scope of last night’s attacks.

The reported objective is to pressure Tehran into responding to the deal currently on the table rather than signal a return to full-scale war.

According to multiple sources, the shift in President Trump’s approach is linked to the recent helicopter incident, frustration over the lack of responses from Mojtaba Khamenei and his inner circle, and pressure from figures advocating a tougher stance on Iran.

Sources say the goal is to break the deadlock in negotiations, though Arab diplomats warn Iran’s response could still drag the United States into a broader conflict.

I wonder if that would have been from drones inside of Iran?
