I suspect that Trump is holding out for a civil war among the Iranian factions.

Hillary was able to do that in Libya by providing air support to various selected factions. The down side of that was Hillary selecting factions worse than Gadhafi.

Trump and Israel won't make that kind of mistake if indeed that's what's going on

There's a huge difference between a theocracy and an autocracy. Religion, especially in its most extreme forms, muddies the water when it comes to control of the military and people.

This would be historically horrible, not to mention categorically evil.

A lot of people still don't realize that the IRGC does not exist to protect Iran. It exists to protect the Islamic Republic itself. It's purpose is to keep the regime intact, in power and to stomp out any resistance to the regime. When the SHTF, its only goal is to make sure that the Mullahs retain power and that the Islamic Revolution continues.

The artesh, is supposed to be for the national defense of the country, but the IRGC has placed leaders in it at every level to make sure it does not try to turn against the regime.

Both organizations supposedly operate separately and even have their own independent air force units. Earlier this year when some F-4's were shot down internally during training exercises, they were Iranian Air Force jets that were shot down by the IRGC Aeroforce. That is how segregated they are at times. IRGC shot those jets down because either they viewed them as a threat or IAF pissed off someone in the IRGC command structure.

Need to stop going through these intermediaries. I despise this structure in negotiations. Deal directly.

No, it's because during the entire ceasefire, Hezbollah has refused to quit attacking Israel via rockets and mortar attacks. Israel finally got tired of it and went back to leveling targets again with extreme prejudice.

The deal is fricked because we are trying to deal with a suicidal religious fanatic that only knows one deal, death or staying alive.

Kill them all. Wait and see who pops up next. Present their formal surrender document and say sign or die.

Repeat.

These kind of people can only be treated in the way of the mongols.

A good X post touching on how the two military organizations operate separately in Iran, in regards to Iranian naval organization.

Iran has 2 navies.

Its conventional navy, built around larger warships such as the Makran, Dana, Shahid Bagheri, Shahid Soleimani, Shahid Sayyad Shirazi, and many more have either been completely destroyed or heavily damaged.

Its second navy, the IRGC (fast boat) Navy, is built around fast attack boats, drones, mines, and anti ship missiles. That force, estimated at over 1,000 boats before the war, appears to remain largely intact.

When President Trump says Iran has ‘no navy,’ he is referring to the conventional fleet. The IRGC swarm fleet is a different story.

The Arab Spring started in Tunisia and was actually a blood feud between the ruler and the Mellouli family. It was run from the offices of Maher Mellouli in Petit Cannet, France. He was a biz partner of a Belgian friend doing business with Qaddafi Their company was Sea Land Air, registered in Malta.

Not just that, there is nothing to spin as long as the mullahs and IRGC are still in control.

Haven’t seen this from other outlets yet, so take it for what it’s worth.

Footage has been released of a group of Iranian gunboats patrolling the strait of Hormuz by Iran these are the same type of boats involved in shooting at tankers and US warships.

That has to be file footage. Otherwise, our military should be sinking each and every one of them.

If we aren't doing that, then why do we have so much firepower over there?

There is absolutely no reason why the Iranians should be able to film a video like that unless it is old.

That's all fine and dandy, what became known as the Arab Spring was created by the Obama Administration through the CIA and its now well known USAID wing
