US air defense did not know there was a balloon til a commercial plane pilot told them. That is why it did not shot it down earlier.
Canada protested to China 5 days later after news broke out. This shows Canadian did not know the balloon either.
in 2021, the balloon was flying in several cities in Japan. The Japanese thought the balloon was used by local cities workers. Then the balloon disappeared and nobody talked about it any more.
This shows you how bad the air defense system is in several most advanced countries.

Yeah not only do we wait until it’s completed its mission and is off the coast after traversing the continent we blast a fricking missile right through the equipment. Instead of taking out the balloon to keep the equipment intact and recoverable we blast the equipment into a million pieces.

Send an F-22 after it so the Chi-Coms get good intel on the radar signature of an inbound Raptor before their intel equipment is splashed. Icing on the cake that Biden has been serving up to the CCP for at least a decade.

Senior US military official says 1 air to air missile fired by F22 at 58,000 feet (an A9X missile) brought down China spy balloon. The balloon was at 60-65,000 feet when shot.
